In the memory of Mr. Nguyen Doan My - Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Nha Trang City, before liberation, Nha Trang town had sparse houses, mainly corrugated iron and tile roofs. Nha Trang Hotel, also known as Floor 7, located on Doc Lap Street (now Thong Nhat Street), was the tallest building in Nha Trang at that time. The coastal area had no houses; people who went swimming were afraid of thieves and robbers. The residents mainly did small business... After liberation until now, Nha Trang has more and more high-rise buildings, many production and business establishments; spacious roads; dense population; the government paid close attention to the material and spiritual life of the people... Those who have been attached to Nha Trang for a long time also admit that the city is changing every day. In particular, after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 09, dated January 28, 2022 on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, which clearly stated the construction and development of Nha Trang as a core urban area, one of the three key economic and social breakthrough areas of the province, the city has clearly identified its goals and driving forces to rise strongly.

Remember, in 2009, when Nha Trang was newly recognized as a first-class urban area under the province, the total number of tourists reached more than 1.5 million; total tourism revenue reached more than 1,500 billion VND. By 2024, the city will reach 7.95 million visitors; total tourism revenue will reach 38,300 billion VND. The value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production increased by an average of 3.22%/year, with the fishery industry alone maintaining an average growth rate of over 6%/year. The city's infrastructure is planned, built and developed synchronously with many large projects, many hotel brands, entertainment areas, and world- class commercial centers. Along with that, social security work is regularly concerned. In 2009, the city had more than 3,700 poor households; by the end of 2024, there will be no more poor households.
