Transformation
According to Mr. Nguyen Doan My, Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Nha Trang City, before liberation, Nha Trang town had sparse houses, mostly with corrugated iron or tile roofs. The Nha Trang Hotel, also known as the 7th Floor, located on Doc Lap Street (now Thong Nhat Street), was the tallest building in Nha Trang at that time. The coastal area had no houses; people going to the beach were afraid of theft and robbery. The population mainly engaged in small businesses... Since liberation, Nha Trang has increasingly more high-rise buildings, many production and business establishments; wide roads; a dense population; and the government pays close attention to the material and spiritual lives of the people... Those who have been closely associated with Nha Trang for many years also acknowledge that the city is changing every day. In particular, after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 09 on January 28, 2022, on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa province until 2030, with a vision to 2045, which clearly stated that Nha Trang should be built and developed as a core urban area, one of the three key breakthrough areas for socio-economic development of the province, the city has clearly defined its goals and driving forces for strong growth.

The value of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production increased by an average of 3.22% per year, with the fisheries sector maintaining an average growth rate of over 6% per year. The city's infrastructure has been planned, built, and developed synchronously with many large projects, many world- class hotel brands, entertainment areas, and shopping centers. Many projects have been, are being, and will be implemented in the area, contributing to creating a modern urban landscape for Nha Trang, such as: Ring Road 2 and Ngoc Hoi intersection; Thai Nguyen Secondary School; Xom Bong Bridge; the intersection connecting Nha Trang airport area; the saltwater intrusion prevention dam on the Cai River; Phu Kien bridge…
Alongside this, social welfare work receives constant attention. In 2009, the city had over 3,700 poor households; by the end of 2024, there were no more poor households. Implementing the Provincial People's Committee's plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the 2024-2025 period, the city is striving to complete the support for the construction and repair of 56 houses, helping households have decent homes. Emphasis is also placed on building a clean and strong Party, government, and political system…
Gradually establishing its position
On its journey to becoming the political, economic , cultural, and tourism-service center of the province, the South Central region, and the Central Highlands, Nha Trang City has made many significant achievements. Resolution No. 18, dated April 28, 2022, of the Nha Trang City Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in land management, mineral resources, construction order, and urban aesthetics is a breakthrough in overcoming long-standing shortcomings of the city and building an image of a beautiful and orderly city. The pilot project to build a smart city model in Nha Trang, approved by the Provincial People's Committee at the end of 2023, has created a foundation for the city to implement many important projects such as: a mobile and web-based intelligent operations center (IOC); a cybersecurity integrated data center (SOC); an urban data warehouse; and a security and traffic monitoring system…
