Musician To Hieu shared with VietNamNet reporter that he was informed by musician Nguyen Vu's family that he passed away at 5:20 p.m. on September 24 due to a heart attack at his home on Nghia Hung Street, Tan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, at the age of 81.
The musician's coffin will be kept at his private home. The funeral will take place from September 25 to 5 a.m. on September 26. The body will be moved and cremated at Binh Hung Hoa Center.
The family would like to exempt funeral offerings including flowers, fruit, incense and candles.

Musician Nguyen Vu's real name is Nguyen Tuan Khanh, born in 1944 in Hanoi .
In 1945, he followed his family to settle in Da Lat City. Thanks to studying music theory and playing musical instruments from a young age, he soon revealed his artistic talent, winning first prize in a children's solo singing competition at the age of 12.
In 1965, Nguyen Vu's first composition was the song "A Seagull" ; then the songs " Last Words for You", "Last Look at Each Other", "Last Song for My Lover" ... the most famous of which is the song " Sad Hymn" .
In later years, he opened a music class for young people at his home.
