Nearly 3 times increase, Russian tourists help Khanh Hoa tourism break through

In the first 8 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 279,000 Russian visitors, an increase of nearly 3 times compared to the same period last year and surpassing the pre-Covid pandemic mark. This is an important driving force to help the local tourism industry recover strongly, continuing to affirm its position as a leading international destination.

Currently, there are about 30 flights per week from many Russian cities to Cam Ranh International Airport, Khanh Hoa province. Open visa policies, along with the advantages of blue sea - white sand - golden sunshine, make Khanh Hoa always attractive to Russian tourists, especially in the cold winter in their homeland. Russian tourists stay more than 10 days, at resorts along nearly 500km of coastline in Khanh Hoa province.

The number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa is increasing.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, the total number of visitors to the province in the past 8 months reached more than 12.8 million, of which international visitors were about 3.7 million. Tourism revenue is estimated at 50,500 billion VND. Russian visitors have long stays and high spending, contributing significantly to the stable revenue for hotels, restaurants and services. However, the wave of Russian visitors also poses challenges in terms of human resources fluent in Russian, along with the requirement to diversify products - from beach resorts to exploring culture and mountain ecology.

Khanh Hoa tourism industry is cooperating with travel agencies to promote in Russia, publish Russian-language documents, organize promotions in major cities and regional centers of Russia. The goal is to maintain growth momentum, aiming for a new record of Russian visitors in 2025.

Khanh Hoa has a warm, sunny climate, favorable for welcoming Russian tourists.

Mr. Pham Minh Nhut, Chairman of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Tourism Association said: “Tourists from Russia mainly travel for leisure, and stay for a long time. The space and climate in Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa are warm, and are a destination that Russian tourists have long chosen. We will develop tourism products combined with the old Ninh Thuan region, with many unique products to attract tourists to Russia and use the services here more.”
