The explosion of a series of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain... is reshaping production methods, working tools and even traditional business models, creating great challenges but also opening up unprecedented opportunities. This is the golden time to take advantage of these new achievements to change the core development driving force of the country, increasing value for the economy quickly and sustainably.

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh affirmed the capacity and creativity of the young generation of Vietnam with more than 20 million young people, accounting for nearly 20% of the population. The young generation of Vietnam is not only the future workforce, but also the main driving force for the country's development.

Outstanding achievements at the International Olympiad in Informatics, the Artificial Intelligence Olympiad or the International Science and Technology Innovation Competition 2025 are proof of that potential. The Deputy Minister believes that when given the conditions, the young generation has the ability to reach out to the world, contributing to making Vietnam a regional innovation center.

The Deputy Minister also pointed out that the Politburo's Resolutions on science, technology, innovation and education and training (Resolutions 57 and 71) have created an important foundation for building an innovation ecosystem, in which intellectual property education plays a bridging role between innovation and practical application. The Ministry of Science and Technology is advising on the development of a National Startup Project, encouraging the spirit of innovation, turning intellectual property into a driving force for economic development.

This is a long-term national strategy, a cause of the entire people and also a new space to promote the power of intelligence and intellectual property in the new era, the main driving force to rapidly develop modern productive forces, perfect production relations, create new environments, tools and markets for startups.

WIPO commits to supporting startups and innovation right from the grassroots level

Since Vietnam joined WIPO in 1976, WIPO has accompanied the Ministry of Science and Technology in building and developing the national intellectual property system, especially intellectual property education and training activities. WIPO has supported the training of thousands of intellectual property officials and experts through WIPO Academy programs and other education and training programs.
