For the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, this year's holiday holds special significance as the University is honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag for 2023. This is a testament to the tireless efforts in education by all the leaders, staff, lecturers, and students of the University.

Hundreds of students, alumni, and faculty members gathered for the ceremony to express their gratitude to their teachers – those who not only imparted knowledge but also ignited a passion for sports in each generation of students.
Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Huynh Vinh Ai - Former Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, President of the Vietnam Paralympic Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Anh Tuan - Director of the Training Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Ms. Dinh Thi Thao Trang - Head of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee of the University and College Bloc of Ho Chi Minh City, along with representatives of the leadership of universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of agencies, departments and sectors; local government, partner units and all leaders, staff, lecturers, employees and students of the School from all generations...

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and other delegates attended the commemoration ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports and Physical Education.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Vo Quoc Thang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the School, reviewed the milestones in the School's journey of building and developing, from its early days to the present. The difficulties and challenges mentioned were not only to pay tribute to previous generations but also to emphasize the efforts of the entire staff, lecturers, and students in building the school into a leading sports training institution in Vietnam.
"Looking back at the development of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports over the past nearly 50 years, we can see the persistent hard work and efforts of everyone, especially the teachers who have been pioneers in building the school's reputation as it is today. Under any circumstances, the teachers have diligently worked, studied, trained, and dedicated themselves to the school's educational mission and to the country," Dr. Vo Quoc Thang, the school's Rector, emotionally expressed.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, the dedication of the faculty, staff, and students helped the school achieve many outstanding accomplishments: enrollment targets for 2024 were met and exceeded; performance indicators in scientific research and activities were maintained; infrastructure was strengthened to ensure effective teaching and learning; innovative solutions were implemented in sports education; numerous opportunities were created for students to study, train, participate in sports competitions, and engage in youth volunteer activities to serve the community; notably, the school completed its educational institution accreditation process in November 2024; and completed the official external evaluation survey for the accreditation of the undergraduate programs in Sports Coaching and Sports Management...
"Today's achievements are not only the result of the hard work of the faculty and staff, but also the unity and efforts of all the students. With this spirit, I hope that all of us will unite and work together to successfully accomplish our tasks, overcome difficulties and shortcomings, and continue to strive to excellently fulfill our duties in the future," emphasized Dr. Vo Quoc Thang, the school's principal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong affirmed that many generations of teachers at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports have always upheld the role of a leading training institution in the field of physical education and sports for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the South. Over the years, the university has achieved many high results in sports activities both domestically and internationally. A large number of the university's students have achieved high results and medals in international competitions.
