Many key stocks surged, pushing the VN-Index up nearly 20 points.

NDO - On May 8th, the Vietnamese stock market saw widespread gains. The market opened positively in the morning session, notably in the real estate, banking, and securities sectors. In the afternoon session, several blue-chip stocks accelerated their gains, with VIC being the most prominent, reaching its ceiling price and contributing over 4.9 points to the VN-Index. At the close of trading, the VN-Index rose 19.43 points to 1,269.80 points.

Market liquidity increased again, with the total trading volume across the three exchanges reaching over 907 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of over 20,718 billion VND.

Foreign investors recorded their fourth consecutive net buying session across all three exchanges, totaling over VND 255.4 billion, focusing on stocks such as VIC (VND 145.26 billion), MBB (VND 119.71 billion), HPG (VND 102.51 billion), MSN (VND 75.76 billion), DXG (VND 65.36 billion), etc.

Conversely, the stocks with the highest net selling volume in this session included VHM (282.2 billion VND), VCB (59.88 billion VND), SSI (51.35 billion VND), VRE (48.42 billion VND), VPB (48.32 billion VND), etc.

On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session reversed its downward trend and increased compared to the previous session, reaching over 18,184 billion VND.

In this session, the stocks that contributed positively to the VN-Index's increase of over 13.15 points included: VIC, GVR,FPT , BID, BCM, MSN, PLX, TCB, LPB, and GAS.

Conversely, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index, causing it to fall by more than 0.48 points, included: HVN, FRT, BWE, HAG, VSC, BAF, DCM, NVL, DIG, and TBC.

In terms of sectors, software stocks were mostly in the green, rising 4.05%, mainly driven by FPT, CMG, HPT, etc. A few stocks declined, including ITD…

Insurance stocks rose 0.18%, mainly driven by PVI, BIC, VNR, etc. Stocks that declined included BVH, PGI, ABI, etc.

* The Vietnamese stock market index rose sharply today, with the VNXALL-Index closing up 31.12 points (+1.51%) at 2,086.29 points. The VN30 index rose 26.30 points (+1.99%) to close at 1,351.10 points. Trading volume reached over 340.18 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of over 10,302.61 VND. At the end of the trading day, 28 VN30 stocks increased, 1 remained unchanged, and 1 decreased.
