On May 21st, the Food Safety Department announced that it had revoked the product registration certificates for 10 health supplements declared by Nam Viet Biotechnology Joint Stock Company (Lot A3-A4, Small and Medium Industrial Cluster, Dien Phu Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province).
This decision was made after companies submitted written requests to withdraw their applications related to health supplement products.

Previously, on May 7th, Nam Viet Biotechnology Joint Stock Company sent a letter to the Food Safety Department requesting the withdrawal of documents related to its health supplement product.
The Food Safety Department stated that a few days prior, it had also issued a decision to revoke the registration certificates for two other health supplement products: Sadi Slim Plus, manufactured by Hoang Huy Organic Trading and Development Co., Ltd. (No. 6, Alley 565, Lac Long Quan Street, Xuan La Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi ), and Chocodiet, manufactured by Loewy Brand Co., Ltd. (No. 310/40 Pham Van Chieu Street, Ward 9, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, now renamed Staywell Trading Co., Ltd. (100/46 Street No. 3, Ward 8, Go Vap District)).
Specifically, the Chocodiet product had its registration certificate revoked because on April 29th, Staywell Trading Co., Ltd. submitted a request to cancel the product registration application. This product was granted registration in April 2021.
Meanwhile, Hoang Huy Organic Trading and Development Co., Ltd. issued a notice in August 2024 announcing the cessation of production and business activities and requesting the revocation of the Certificate of Acceptance of the Product Declaration for the Sadi Slim Plus health supplement.

Subsequently, the Food Safety Department issued a document revoking the validity of the Registration Certificate for 18 health supplement products declared by Abbott Healthcare Vietnam.
These 18 products are all health supplements related to improving brain circulation, enhancing liver function, boosting immunity, reducing fatigue, and supporting hair growth, among other benefits.
The recall was carried out at the request of the company itself to withdraw the application related to the health supplement product. The reason for the voluntary recall of the product declaration was the lack of a production and business plan.
Recently, the Food Safety Administration has repeatedly announced the revocation of product registration certificates for dozens of health supplement products. In a short period of time, a series of functional food products have been recalled.
The Food Safety Department stated that the reason for revoking these certificates was based on the voluntary request to withdraw the dossiers related to health supplements from the registering entities, and was not related to product quality.
