The two expressways, Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet – Dau Giay, passing through Binh Thuan province, have a total length of over 148 km, running along five districts: Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam, and Ham Tan.

The National Assembly's Economic Committee delegation inspected the shortcomings on two expressways on the morning of September 7th.

The compensation and land clearance work was quite extensive, involving 2,635 households, individuals, and organizations, and affecting 1,140.8 hectares of land. Five resettlement areas were constructed to accommodate 149 households, and a significant number of infrastructure facilities, including water, telecommunications, medium- and low-voltage electricity, and 500 kV and 220 kV high-voltage lines, had to be relocated at 20 locations that intersected with the expressway. With the decisive direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Transport , the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the involvement of the entire political system, Binh Thuan province completed the compensation, support, and resettlement work for the two main expressway routes according to schedule. Although the two expressways are now operational, many issues remain unresolved, impacting people's lives and production activities and causing current public concern. Specifically, the local roads damaged by the transportation of materials for the project have not been fully repaired and restored to their original condition. Some pedestrian underpasses, land, and houses belonging to residents have been flooded and eroded. Houses and religious buildings with cracked walls and subsidence due to highway construction have not been repaired or remedied. Several unfinished items along the route remain, including incomplete service roads along both sides of the highway, underpasses, and overpasses, which are necessary to ensure convenient travel and support for local production.

In addition to the above issues, the two expressways in Binh Thuan province have not yet completed the interchanges. Rest stops have not been built on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay sections. An overpass needs to be constructed on National Highway 1 (at the intersection of the access road to the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway with National Highway 1, in Ham Cuong commune, Ham Thuan Nam district). Traffic surveillance cameras have not yet been installed on the two expressway sections, and the emergency lane on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section is missing...

During the inspection and monitoring program of the National Transport Sector's key projects on September 7th, the National Assembly's Economic Committee delegation inspected the Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressways. Based on the delegation's inspection and recommendations from Binh Thuan province, the Economic Committee acknowledged the existing problems on the two expressways. Mr. Nguyen Danh Huy, Deputy Minister of Transport, stated that the Ministry of Transport is directing relevant units to address the issues raised by Binh Thuan. Since only phase 1 of the two expressways has been completed, phase 2 will gradually complete the remaining stages; the Ministry will prioritize resolving the urgent issues raised by Binh Thuan...
