Mr. Nguyen Duy Toan, Director of Toan Loc Cooperative, said that last year, the craft village began to restore production after a period of being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the recovery process was not easy when raw material prices increased, and finding outlets for high-value products encountered many difficulties. Many craft village producers said they wanted support in promoting and finding outlets for their products. The prices of wooden handicraft products in the craft village range from tens of millions of dong to billions, even tens of billions of dong. A set of wooden furniture made from wood imported from South Africa, intricately carved and worth billions of dong, is displayed at a booth in Dong Ky craft village. Another set of tables and chairs worth billions is on display at the craft village. According to the sculptor, a product like this has thousands of details, patterns, and shapes that not only require meticulousness and high precision, but more importantly, the carver must have aesthetic sense, talent combined with many years of accumulated experience. According to the owner, these high-end products are suitable for use and decoration in villas, castles, penthouses, hotels, especially buildings with ancient French architectural influences.
