What makes VACC 2025 a must-see concert season

Vietnam Airlines Classic - Hanoi Concert (VACC) has long been a cultural destination of the capital every autumn. The journey of bringing top-notch music to Hanoi this season is connected by two music nights performed by the world's leading orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra (LSO). In addition, with the first appearance of conductor Sir Antonio Pappano, VACC 2025 promises to be a historic concert season that Hanoi audiences cannot miss.

Unlike many international programs that usually only take place in one session, VACC 2025 continues to bring two consecutive concert nights. Standing on the podium this time is Sir Antonio Pappano - the veteran British conductor of Italian origin, who has just completed more than 20 years leading the Royal Opera House in London and will take on the role of Principal Conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker from 2026. With a conducting style that is both powerful, emotional, and delicate to every detail, Pappano is praised by critics as "one of the world's leading conductors today".

Under his hands, Hanoi audiences will experience two great masterpieces: Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 - a symbol of the will to win and the human spirit, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10 - a work containing the tragedies and aspirations for freedom of the 20th century. The two symphonies, one classical Western, one modern, will create a musical journey that balances tradition and time.

This season, VACC also brings a completely new point when broadcasting the concert live on the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street. If the Hoan Kiem Theater brings sophistication and international standards, then broadcasting the signal directly to the giant LED screen at Ly Thai To Square affirms VACC's spirit of community connection.

With this technology, the audience outside can simultaneously share the experience with those sitting in the auditorium. The image of thousands of audiences jostling to stand by the Lake to listen to classical music in the 2017-2019 VACC seasons will return but with a new look with a direct connection between indoors and outdoors, between elite spaces and community spaces.

In 2025, when the event takes place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 71st anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, VACC becomes even more meaningful: a spiritual gift, both honoring history and opening the door to global cultural integration. The program is the next touchpoint in the series of events under the "Touching Autumn in Hanoi" campaign organized by the Hanoi People's Committee and Vietnam Airlines.

During two concert nights, when works by Beethoven and Shostakovich resound simultaneously in both the luxurious auditorium and the outdoor square, Hanoi will live in a rare space where the pinnacle of art touches every heart. That is also the message that VACC 2025 wants to send: classical music belongs not only to the theater, but also to the community, and Hanoi is the meeting point where these two worlds come together.

Vietnam Airlines Classic-Hanoi Concert 2025 will take place on two nights, October 10 and 11, 2025, at the Hoan Kiem Theater. Each night will have its own unique staging, not only bringing the audience top-notch musical experiences but also many wonderful and emotional moments.
