When the rice fields in Bac Son Valley ( Lang Son province ) begin to turn a brilliant golden color, preparing for harvest, visitors can climb to the summit of Na Lay mountain, approximately 600m high, to admire the panoramic view of the valley.
The Bac Son Valley is surrounded by lush, verdant limestone mountain ranges. The houses of the Tay, Nung, and Dao ethnic groups are nestled close together in the peaceful valley.
The unevenly divided rice paddies, some green, some yellow, blend together to create a magnificent and captivating natural landscape. While the rice paddies in Bac Son may not possess the same beauty as the terraced fields in Y Ty, Lao Cai , or Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai, this place still attracts photographers with its unique charm.
To reach Bac Son Valley from Hanoi , travelers should take National Highway 3 towards Thai Nguyen, then turn onto National Highway 1B and continue for nearly 80 km. About 3 km from Bac Son town, visitors can linger at Tam Canh Pass to witness the clouds swirling over the mountain peaks in the early morning.
