When the rice harvest season in Bac Son valley ( Lang Son ) begins to put on a brilliant golden coat, when the ripe rice fields are ready to enter the harvest season. To admire the whole view of Bac Son valley, visitors can climb to the top of Na Lay mountain about 600m high.
Bac Son Valley is surrounded by lush green limestone mountains. The houses of the Tay, Nung, and Dao ethnic groups are located close together, nestled in the peaceful valley.
The unevenly divided rice fields, some green, some yellow, blend together to create a magnificent natural picture that captivates people's hearts. The rice fields in Bac Son are not as beautiful as the terraced fields in Y Ty in Lao Cai or Mu Cang Chai in Yen Bai, but this place still attracts photographers thanks to its very own charm.
To get to Bac Son valley, from Hanoi , visitors travel along Highway 3 to Thai Nguyen, then turn to Highway 1B, another 80 km to get there. About 3 km from Bac Son town, visitors can linger at Tam Canh pass to hunt for clouds drifting over the mountain top in the early morning.
