Stuffed animals

Many people love buying stuffed animals, especially carrying them around. However, used stuffed animals are actually not safe at all, especially if you plan to give a used one to a child. We cannot verify their history of use. These stuffed animals may carry bacteria or contain invisible pathogens on their surface. Think carefully before you decide to buy a stuffed animal for home use.

Baby supplies

Baby items such as cribs, strollers, and car seats are very popular choices for mothers. And the go-to place for many is secondhand stores. However, this is really not advisable. Parents should be careful when deciding whether or not to buy used baby items from these stores, considering the safety, hygiene, and quality of the products.

Helmet

Are you unwilling to spend money on a high-priced helmet? Yet you still want a good quality helmet to ensure your safety? If that's what you want, then don't be tempted to buy a used helmet. Typically, a quality helmet lasts an average of 3-5 years. However, surveys show that due to weather conditions and degradation, most helmets last a maximum of 2 years.

You shouldn't buy helmets from secondhand shops because the prices aren't as cheap as you think. "Cheap" here refers to the quality of the helmet. Used helmets can cause scalp infections or have hidden cracks in the padding that you can't see. Wearing a helmet is important for your safety, but if you're careless and use a used one, it could be a harmful choice.

Computer

Buying a used desktop computer is a real question mark. You have no idea how it's been used. Unless you're tech-savvy, you can't see what programs are installed on the hard drive. Buying a used laptop is even worse because you can't know if it's been dropped or bumped by the previous owner.

Digital camera

Just like computers, used cameras are likely to be in poor condition. It's difficult to tell at a glance how the previous owner used and maintained them. If you only need a tool for taking travel photos or capturing memorable moments, a new camera isn't too expensive. You could even use your smartphone for the same purpose.

Shoes, sandals

If you want your feet to be comfortable and minimize back pain, it's best to avoid secondhand shoe stores. Shoes are usually only comfortable for the feet of their first owner; they will likely no longer fit properly for subsequent wearers. Furthermore, old shoes can actually cause foot pain.

Makeup

Many people might find it hard to believe that someone would buy used makeup. However, you can find plenty of used mascara, lipstick, and eyeshadow at thrift stores and online. Some websites even have sections where people can exchange cosmetics they've bought but no longer want to use.

Used makeup may be cheap and harmless, but it can also harbor dangerous bacteria or spread infectious diseases. Buying used products carries risks, so it's best to buy new ones.
