In response to the "Tet for the Poor and Victims of Agent Orange" campaign in 2012, aiming to contribute to sharing and providing timely support to poor families, victims of Agent Orange, and underprivileged students in mountainous, remote, and disadvantaged areas, in conjunction with the "Each organization, each individual linked to a humanitarian cause" movement; on January 13, 2012, a delegation from the Lao Cai Department of Education and Training, led by Deputy Director Hoang Van Duong, visited Lung Cai commune, Bac Ha district – a commune that has been under the Department's patronage and assistance since 2007 – amidst the bustling preparations for the Lunar New Year. Accompanying the delegation were leaders and several specialists from the Bac Ha District Department of Education and Training to present gifts and New Year greetings to the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Lung Cai commune, as well as the teachers and staff of the commune's kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools. In the spirit of "mutual support and solidarity," the delegation from the Lao Cai Department of Education and Training presented 44 gift packages to impoverished households and 15 packages to underprivileged students with good academic achievements, along with 4 computer sets for 3 schools in the commune, with a total value exceeding 20 million VND. These gifts, though small, have provided timely encouragement to the people, teachers, and students, demonstrating the concern of the leadership, the Red Cross, the Trade Union, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Department of Education and Training for the people and students in this area.

These Tet gifts are filled with heartfelt affection.
The faces beamed with joy as people headed home for Tet (Lunar New Year).
Visiting people's homes to offer New Year greetings and wishes.
