The "Dreamy Cities Summer Hanoi" program is scheduled to take place in Hanoi next July, compensating for the event on April 20th which had to be postponed midway due to heavy rain.
Meanwhile , Show 4 is scheduled to take place on May 11th in Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, both events confirmed the participation of Vu Dinh Trong Thang (of the band Ngot) - also known as Thang Ngot - in the program.
In an announcement on the evening of April 30th, the organizers of "Dreamy Cities" thanked the audience for their interest and feedback regarding artist Thang's participation in the event taking place in Hanoi in July.
"After listening to residents' feedback and careful discussion, the organizing committee has decided that omitting artist Thang from the lineup for this event is the best option at the moment," the announcement stated.
With this decision, the organizers hope the audience will "understand and empathize".
The organizers further stated, "Even without the presence of artist Thang, 'Dreamy Cities' will still bring you a colorful and impressive event with a diverse and rich lineup of artists."
Specifically, the immediate list of artists includes Obito, Low G, Grey D, Chillies, The Cassette, and many others.
Regarding Show 4 , the organizers announced that "after discussions and direct meetings with Thang's representatives, due to personal reasons on the artist's part, the organizers and Thang have decided to terminate their collaboration and performance at the concert on May 11th."
At the same time, the organizers will refund 60% of the ticket price to audience members who decide not to continue attending the show.
In recent days, Thang Ngot has been a frequently searched keyword on social media following his cryptic statuses posted late on April 27th and early on April 28th on his personal Facebook page, Thang Vu, which included mentions of banned substances.
The situation escalated when artist Bi Tro of the band Cat Lun spoke out on the evening of April 29th, accusing Thang Ngot of treating his friends, family, and wife and children terribly, further damaging Thang's image.
The fan club of the band Ngọt, with nearly 100,000 members, also changed its name and ceased operations after the artist's controversy. Many fans declared they were "leaving the fan club."
Thang's personal Facebook account is currently locked. Since the controversy erupted, Thang has not responded to any information related to the incident.
