The pomelo growing area in Phuoc Binh commune (Bac Ai) has just been granted a planting area code (PB.32.02.01.001) by the Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) for 23 hectares of pilot planting in 3 villages: Gia E, Hanh Rac 2 and Bo Lang, effective from June 22, 6.
This is good news for the people of Bac Ai mountainous district, the implementation of the planting area code (MSVT) will open the door for Phuoc Binh green-skinned pomelo to access the world market, enhancing its brand and value. economy.
These days, like many pomelo growing households in Phuoc Binh commune, the family of Ms. Katr Thi Gín in Gia E village is very happy when locally grown pomelos are granted MSVT for export to the US. Ms. Ghin shared: Recently, my family was selected to pilot green-skinned pomelo to grant MSVT. Through training sessions, I have mastered the technique of growing pomelos in the direction of VietGAP. For pomelo growers, it is a great joy to be granted an MSVT, because then the pomelo is exported, it will create a stable output, people have conditions to increase their income and stabilize their lives.

Like the family of Gín, joy also came to Mr. Nguyen Van Quang's family in Bac Ray 2 village. Mr. Quang excitedly said: My family has grown more than 1,5 hectares of green-skinned pomelo, in recent years the tree has grown. Local pomelos are known in many places for their sweet, crisp and clean quality. However, prices are often precarious and depend heavily on traders. The grant of MSVT for Phuoc Binh pomelo to export to the US market will help farmers get rid of the precarious price situation and depend on traders, helping to improve farmers' incomes.
Phuoc Binh commune is the locality with the largest area of green pomelo in the province with 193 hectares, with an annual output of over 3.000 tons. The area and output of pomelo is increasing, but the market does not expand, the consumption stage depends entirely on traders, so the price is unstable. Therefore, re-planning the planting and production areas according to VietGAP standards is an inevitable direction to improve the economic value of pomelo trees.

Mr. Pham Dung, Director of the Provincial Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection said: The fact that Phuoc Binh pomelo was granted official export license to the US is a testament to the efforts of local people in particular and of Agriculture in general. Thereby, giving more impetus to open the direction for other typical agricultural products of the province to penetrate the world market more. The issuance of MSVT will be a "passport" for Phuoc Binh green-skinned pomelos to be exported to foreign markets by official channels. Currently, the unit has announced to the representative of the area code for pomelo growing in Phuoc Binh commune and public information to pomelo farmers. The Sub-department also assigned the Domestic Plant Quarantine Station to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the specialized branches of Bac Ai district and the People's Committee of Phuoc Binh commune to continue monitoring and supervising the pomelo growing area. This is to ensure the maintenance and compliance with the regulations of the importing country 90 days before the next harvest as a basis for maintaining the code; at the same time, guide and supervise the representative of the planting area to publicly inform all households in the growing area about the status of approval and use of MSVT.
