Working together in unity.
Trung Trach commune currently has 235 families of people who contributed to the revolution. Over the years, the care for these families has always been a priority for the Party committee, government, and mass organizations, achieving many important results. Implementing the housing support project for people who contributed to the revolution and relatives of martyrs, a review has identified 22 households in the commune needing to build new houses or repair existing ones. Most of these families are facing significant financial difficulties; besides the government's financial support, they lack the financial resources to cover the costs.

According to Nguyen Cam Long, Secretary of the Party Committee of Trung Trach commune: “With the spirit of ‘leaving no one behind,’ the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune organized a charity concert to call for the joint efforts and contributions of agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists… to support families of war invalids and martyrs, poor and near-poor households in repairing and building new houses. The concert was more successful than expected, raising over 400 million VND. The commune will allocate this money to promptly support the families, with an estimated 20 million VND for new house construction and 10 million VND for house repairs.”
Mr. Tran Xuan Nam, Head of the Trung Trach Commune Branch of the Dai Trach People's Credit Fund, shared: "When we learned that Trung Trach Commune was calling for social contributions to support the construction and repair of houses for people who contributed to the revolution and relatives of martyrs, we wholeheartedly agreed and supported it. The amount of 50 million VND, though not large, is our token of gratitude to the families of those who contributed to the revolution in the commune."
Over the past period, localities throughout Bo Trach district have actively mobilized the participation of organizations, associations, and the business community, combined with budget resources, to accelerate the implementation of the project. The total amount of socialized funds mobilized throughout the district to date is over 1.7 billion VND. Many communes and towns have mobilized significant support, such as Trung Trach (400 million VND), Tay Trach (186 million VND), Hoan Lao (100 million VND), Phong Nha (90 million VND), etc. In addition, localities have also mobilized nearly 600 man-days of labor to support the families.
The joint efforts and contributions of agencies, units, organizations, businesses, and the people have demonstrated noble gestures and the solidarity and responsibility of the community towards families of those who contributed to the revolution and families of martyrs.

New homes built with compassion
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vi (born in 1954) from Trung Trach commune is a disabled veteran with 61% disability. He enlisted in 1974, participated in the B battlefield, and later served at the Cu Lao Cham Border Guard Post ( Quang Nam province). In 1984, he returned to his hometown and participated in local activities.
Mr. Vi said that his and his wife's house, built about 40 years ago, had deteriorated significantly, with many areas damaged by termites, posing a safety risk, especially during storms. For a long time, they had wanted to renovate the house but lacked the funds. When the housing support program for people who contributed to the revolution and relatives of martyrs was implemented, Mr. and Mrs. Vi were able to repair their family home. After nearly a month of implementation, Mr. and Mrs. Vi now have a bright, beautiful, and sturdy new house to live in.
Mr. Vi happily shared: “I would like to thank the Party, the State, and the local government for their concern and for creating conditions for my family to have a new house, allowing us to settle down and live peacefully. Especially, the house was completed just in time for the whole country to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. This is an extremely meaningful gift for my family, and I am very happy and grateful.”
The new house of Mr. Dinh Dang Khoa's family in Lien Trach commune (Bo Trach district) is basically complete.

The family of Mr. Dinh Dang Khoa (born in 1949) and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu (born in 1950) in Lien Trach commune is also about to receive their new house, with an area of 60m2, worth approximately 200 million VND. In addition to the 80 million VND in support provided according to regulations, the couple also received assistance from local organizations and associations in terms of labor and a portion of the construction costs.
Mr. Dinh Thanh Xuan, Mr. Khoa's son, shared: "Previously, my parents lived in a dilapidated, unsafe house that was unsafe during the rainy season. Now, they have a new, sturdy house to live in, and we are truly happy and grateful for the care and support from all levels of government, organizations, and individuals."
According to Dinh Xuan Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lien Trach commune: "In Lien Trach commune, there are 7 families of war invalids and martyrs who need to repair or rebuild their houses. Currently, these houses have been basically completed and handed over. To achieve this result, in addition to the decisive direction of the local government, we must also acknowledge the joint support of organizations, associations, and the people."
According to Nguyen Huu Hong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo Trach District, as of May 5, 2025, 221 out of 276 houses in the district had started construction (over 80%), with 146 houses completed and put into use. Supporting the construction and repair of houses not only helps war veterans and their families have better living conditions but also motivates them to continue striving in life. This also spreads the spirit of "drinking water, remembering the source," demonstrating the morality and responsibility of the entire society towards those who have contributed to the country.
