Mr. Phuong and his wife are both over 70 years old, in poor health and have no children. For many years, they have lived in a dilapidated thatched house, patched together with torn tarpaulins and rotten bamboo. Whenever there is a strong wind, the roof shakes violently, threatening to collapse at any moment.
Faced with that situation, readers of Dan Tri newspaper supported Mr. Phuong's family with 54.7 million VND to build a house. In addition, the local government and some charitable organizations supported his family with about 100 million VND. According to the design, Mr. Phuong's house has an investment of about 160 million VND, with a red roof and full bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. The house is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of August 2025.
The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, residing in Vinh Tuy 1 village, Vinh Ninh commune, is in a very difficult situation because his wife died early, he himself has liver cancer, 2 children are still in school age and his parents are over 80 years old. In particular, Mr. Phu's daughter, Nguyen Thuy Hien (grade 9), has congenital hepatitis B, which has now turned into cirrhosis.
For many years, 5 people in Mr. Phu's family have been crowded into a cramped, seriously degraded level 4 house. According to the estimate, the total cost of building a house for Mr. Phu's family is about 200 million VND, of which readers of Dan Tri newspaper donated 88 million VND. The remaining amount was called for and supported by the Vinh Ninh commune government and capital from the family and neighbors. It is expected that Mr. Phu's house will be completed and put into use in early September 2025.
Currently, Dan Tri newspaper continues to call for and receive support sources to help these two families.
