During the summer months, the atmosphere at the Yen Man Quan Ho Club (Kinh Bac ward) is always vibrant with the clear, cheerful voices of the children. Having participated in Quan Ho classes for many years, 9-year-old Phan Hoai An has memorized and skillfully performed many Quan Ho melodies such as: "Muoi Nho," "Con Duyen," "Vao Chua," etc. Hoai An shared: "Each lesson brings something new."

The free Quan Ho folk singing class in Yen Man residential area (Kinh Bac ward) has attracted a large number of students. |
Besides being guided by the artisans on breathing techniques, enunciation, and singing the melodies correctly, we also learned about the customs, rituals, and etiquette of the male and female singers in traditional Quan Ho folk singing. Thanks to the dedicated guidance of the artisans, we have grown to love and be proud of our homeland's cultural heritage even more.”
According to Ms. Han Thi Minh Hau, Vice Head of the Club: For many years, the club members have not only maintained activities and exchanges but also actively opened free classes to teach the younger generation. This summer, the class has about 150 children participating. Through these lessons, the children are exposed to traditional cultural values, contributing to nurturing their love for and awareness of preserving cultural identity.
Besides cultural and art classes, many activities equipping students with practical life skills are also organized during the summer. In response to the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Youth Union of Tien Phong Ward organized two free swimming classes combined with training in drowning prevention skills for young people in the area. The program attracted 50 students from poor and near-poor households, those with difficult circumstances, and those who achieved excellent academic results in the 2025-2026 school year.
During the course, the children are taught basic swimming skills, how to handle situations in the water, knowledge about preventing drowning accidents, and self-protection measures. This is a practical activity that contributes to raising awareness among families and the community about preventing child drowning – an issue that is always a concern during the summer.
At Dai Giac Pagoda (Vo Cuong Ward), free cultural classes for disadvantaged students have been maintained for many years. Every summer, it becomes a familiar destination for many underprivileged students in the area. This year, the pagoda continues to collaborate with teachers and volunteers to organize classes in Math, Vietnamese, English, and Chinese for students from grades 3 to 12. This activity not only provides students with more learning opportunities but also helps alleviate the financial burden on many disadvantaged families.
Over the years, the care, protection, and education of children, especially those in difficult circumstances, have always received attention from Party committees, government agencies, relevant sectors, and society as a whole. Many support programs have been effectively implemented, contributing to ensuring children's right to education, play, and development. However, alongside the achievements, the work of protecting and caring for children still faces many difficulties and challenges.
Currently, the province still has nearly 5,000 children in difficult circumstances and more than 1,200 children at risk of falling into difficult circumstances who need attention and support. Risks of school violence, child abuse, injuries, drowning, and online insecurity still exist.
It is known that, immediately after the end of the school year, youth organizations coordinated with relevant departments to organize summer activities for students in residential areas; implemented cultural, artistic, physical education, and sports activities; disseminated skills to prevent drowning, injuries, violence, and child abuse; and participated in environmental sanitation and maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful landscape.
These practical activities not only bring joy to children during the summer but also provide opportunities for them to interact, learn, develop life skills, and cultivate their character. This is also an important foundation that helps children become more confident in their studies and in life.
