Efforts to ensure workers can celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with their families.

According to Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, despite facing many difficulties, the trade unions at all levels in Hai Duong always have many practical activities aimed at union members and workers at the end of each year, for example, the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market program.

On the morning of January 11th, the Hai Duong Provincial Federation of Labor Unions organized the program "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" and inaugurated the "Trade Union Tet Market 2025".

Overcoming difficulties to support workers

In his opening remarks, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), assessed that despite facing many difficulties, the trade unions at all levels in Hai Duong have still implemented many practical activities aimed at union members and workers, especially during the Lunar New Year. This is a great source of encouragement and motivation, helping union members and workers to work diligently in production, contributing to the development of Hai Duong.

With the motto "All union members and workers should have a happy Tet holiday," the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor hopes that Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province will continue to pay attention to the rights and policies for workers. They should regularly organize meetings and dialogues to listen to and address the concerns and aspirations of workers. Trade unions at all levels need to do a good job of caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers.

The "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" program took place from January 11-12 at the Provincial Federation of Labor's Cultural Center (Hai Duong City). Compared to previous years, this year's program was the largest in scale with 35 stalls offering discounts from 15-45%.

Of these, 15 stalls were organized by the Provincial Labor Union in coordination with businesses, cooperatives, and household businesses. The remaining stalls were set up by higher-level grassroots trade unions in collaboration with local authorities. In addition to discounted products, the organizers also presented 3,000 shopping vouchers (worth 100,000 VND each) to union members and workers with low incomes and difficult circumstances.

It is known that the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" and "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" programs have been developed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) through its specialized departments for many months prior to implementation, with the expectation that they will be a highlight of activities at the end of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon (2024). The program includes a series of activities at the central and local levels with meaningful content, demonstrating the concern, encouragement, and sharing of the Trade Union organization with union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

At the same time, this is also an opportunity for agencies, units, and businesses to join hands in caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers, helping them to work and produce with peace of mind, and to celebrate Tet in a warm, joyful, and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Nearly 65 billion VND spent on Tet Reunion.

According to Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hoa, President of the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Union, with the motto "All union members and workers should have a happy Tet holiday," all levels of the Labor Union in the province are striving to focus all resources on caring for union members and workers during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025 with practical and meaningful activities.

Specifically, trade union branches at all levels in the province, in coordination with heads of agencies, units, and employers, are expected to give gifts to nearly 200,000 union members and workers who are still facing difficulties and have low incomes, with a total amount of nearly 65 billion VND; and support 3,850 union members and workers to participate in the 2025 online trade union Tet market program.

According to the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Union, at the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" and "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" programs, the organizing committee awarded 500 gift packages (1 million VND/package); distributed 3,000 discount vouchers (100,000 VND/voucher); and provided financial assistance for train and bus fares to 500 union members and migrant workers returning home for Tet (500,000 VND/person). The Provincial Labor Union also organized a "Zero-Cost Stall" at the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market to provide essential goods for disadvantaged union members and workers.

Within the framework of the "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" program, many cultural and artistic activities and folk games were also held, such as: "Singing for Workers - Listening to Workers Sing," union dances, exhibitions of traditional Vietnamese Tet celebrations, free haircuts, tug-of-war competitions, and sack races. These activities attracted thousands of union members and workers.

According to the Chairwoman of the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Union, Ngo Thi Thanh Hoa, the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program and the "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" are meaningful activities, demonstrating the concern, encouragement, and sharing of the trade union organization with union members and workers in difficult circumstances. This is also an opportunity for agencies, units, and businesses to join hands in caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers, helping them to work and produce with peace of mind, and to celebrate a warm, joyful, and enthusiastic Tet.
