Significant change
As a key coastal transportation route in Da Nang with a high volume of traffic, especially during peak tourist season, ensuring urban order on Vo Nguyen Giap Street is always a priority for all levels of government.
Previously, motorcycles stopping and parking on the road was common, narrowing the lanes and hindering traffic flow. During rush hour, this often caused localized congestion and posed a high risk of traffic accidents.
To address this situation, city authorities have launched a campaign to inspect and handle violations, while also intensifying propaganda and guidance for residents and tourists on proper parking regulations. As a result, compliance awareness has significantly improved, contributing to ensuring traffic safety, preserving urban aesthetics, and enhancing the image of a civilized tourist destination for the city.
Observations show that the problem of indiscriminate parking on the road has significantly decreased. Instead of stopping and parking haphazardly, residents and tourists are proactively seeking out legal parking areas. This transformation not only ensures traffic safety but also shapes the appearance of the coastal road into a civilized and modern route, befitting its status as a national tourism hub.
Despite achieving many positive results, maintaining order on Vo Nguyen Giap Street still faces numerous challenges. Notably, there is a recurring problem of violations whenever law enforcement is absent. On weekends or during peak beach hours, many people still take advantage of the situation to park illegally.

Furthermore, the increasing number of tourists flocking to Da Nang has put greater pressure on management; many first-time visitors to the city, due to unfamiliarity with regulations, unintentionally violate them. In addition, the limited land available for beachfront parking, coupled with the extremely high demand during peak season, also presents a significant challenge.
Mr. Tran Minh Duc , a tourist from Hanoi, shared: “This was my first time at the beach, and because I wasn't familiar with the regulations, I parked my car on the road and it was impounded by the authorities. Initially, I was quite worried, thinking my car was stolen, but after researching and receiving guidance from social media, I went to the local police station to pay the fine and retrieve my vehicle.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Le Quoc Bao, who regularly exercises here, commented: "I see a clear change in people's awareness. Many people who used to park right next to the beach now proactively move their vehicles to designated parking areas. This proves that the awareness campaigns and enforcement have been truly effective."

Continue to tighten management.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (residing in An Hai ward) said: "Previously, vehicles parked all over the road, obstructing traffic. Since the authorities started regularly patrolling, the situation has improved significantly, and the roads are clearer and safer."
Sharing the same view, Ms. Tran Thi Mai, a coastal service business owner, believes that continuous inspections are necessary because violations can easily recur if law enforcement is absent.
Accordingly, localities through which the route passes are implementing a variety of management solutions simultaneously.
In An Hai ward, which manages most of the route, the People's Committee of the ward has directed the ward police to take the lead and coordinate with relevant forces to strengthen mobile patrols and inspections. Inspections focus on peak hours from late afternoon to night to promptly detect and strictly handle cases of encroachment on the road and sidewalks for business purposes or illegal parking.

In the coming period, the An Hai Ward People's Committee will continue to maintain regular and surprise inspections, especially on weekend evenings and holidays. Authorities will resolutely issue citations, impose fines, and temporarily seize vehicles for cases of deliberate repeat offenses; absolutely preventing the formation of unauthorized business points or large gatherings that endanger traffic safety on the road.
According to the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son Ward, in recent times, inter-agency forces have regularly deployed both during and outside of working hours to ensure urban order on Vo Nguyen Giap Street. Specifically, from June 1st, 2026 to the present, the inspection team has conducted 12 patrols, issued 1 violation report, and handled 4 motorbikes and 20 signboards...
The People's Committee of the ward will continue to mobilize forces to coordinate closely and launch simultaneous campaigns according to the motto: "Propaganda first, guidance follows, and strict handling of cases of deliberate violations." At the same time, the ward will implement checkpoint measures, assign specific responsibilities to each residential group and neighborhood for management, and resolutely prevent the recurrence of encroachment.
The positive changes along Vo Nguyen Giap Street demonstrate the city's determination to ensure traffic order and build a civilized urban lifestyle. By maintaining rigorous inspection and enforcement measures, combined with public awareness campaigns and improvements to parking infrastructure, Vo Nguyen Giap Street is expected to become increasingly less congested. This is not only a task of urban management but also a key factor in improving the quality of tourism services and maintaining Da Nang's brand as a livable city in the hearts of residents and tourists.
