In Hanoi, the heart of the country, the tourism industry is implementing a series of activities to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) and the spring festival to meet the needs of tourists. For the first time, the flower garden around the statue of King Ly Thai To and the Octagonal House is hosting the largest spring flower garden ever, featuring over 300 precious peach blossom trees and nearly 300 artistic kumquat trees from traditional craft villages in Hanoi and neighboring provinces. Meanwhile, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel is home to a spring flower street and exhibitions showcasing Tet culture; the Temple of Literature - National University is highlighted by the Spring Calligraphy Festival of the Year of the Horse; Hanoi's Old Quarter is vibrant with the "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet" program; and the Hanoi Museum is offering free admission to 100% of visitors during the traditional Tet holiday... These activities have attracted a large number of tourists to Hanoi's cultural heritage sites.

Visiting the Temple of Literature - National University during the Lunar New Year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong (Thach Quang commune, Thanh Hoa province) said: “This year the Tet holiday is longer, so my family came to Hanoi to celebrate the New Year and participate in cultural activities. This is a memorable experience after a year of hard work.”

According to representatives from the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giám Cultural and Scientific Activities Center, as of 12 PM on February 19th (the 3rd day of Tet), the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giám complex had welcomed approximately 55,000 visitors. Tourist attractions such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hoa Lo Prison, historical sites in the Old Quarter, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Tay Ho Palace, etc., were also packed with tourists. The Huong Son scenic area (Huong Pagoda) alone received 25,000 visitors on the 1st and 2nd days of Tet.

On the third day of the Lunar New Year, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang personally inspected the preparations for the Huong Pagoda Festival. He highly praised the local authorities' preparations and organization of the festival, acknowledging their determination and efforts in clearing and rearranging service areas, restoring space for the historical site, and creating a civilized and convenient environment for visitors; providing free parking for tourists; and simultaneously requesting the local authorities to continue protecting and promoting the achievements, preventing any re-encroachment on the historical site, while also researching and developing new tourism products and routes, gradually elevating Huong Son tourism to a national and international-level destination.

At the Hien Luong-Ben Hai National Special Monument in Quang Tri province, renovations have been completed, and the site is now open to visitors free of charge, as a New Year's gift. Mr. Tran Ngoc Long, a resident of Hoang Quoc Viet Street in Hanoi, brought his family to Quang Tri to visit the monument and offer incense at the martyrs' cemeteries. Mr. Long was very impressed with the newly renovated Hien Luong-Ben Hai site. The completion of the renovations and the free opening during Tet (Lunar New Year) have contributed to attracting many tourists back to this historically significant destination along the Ben Hai River, after more than half a year of restoration. Visitors from all over the country also came to offer incense and pay respects at the national martyrs' cemeteries along Highway 9, Truong Son, Quang Tri Citadel, and Trieu Phong.

Along with historical sites, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is a popular tourist destination. On the morning of February 17th, the first day of the Lunar New Year, the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center welcomed the first distinguished guests to visit the World Natural Heritage site, with the hope that tourism will flourish in 2026. According to the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center, from the 29th day of the Lunar New Year to the 3rd day of the Year of the Horse 2026, more than 5,000 visitors have come to explore the caves and experience the services of the National Park. Pham Hong Thai, Director of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park Management Board, said that based on the unique heritage values, the goal of Phong Nha-Ke Bang tourism in the new phase is to develop green and sustainable tourism; improve service quality, diversify products, and personalize experiences.

In Lao Cai, the series of activities celebrating the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse) includes many traditional events and festivals reflecting the unique identity of the highlands, such as: the Gau Tao Festival of the H'Mong people at Sun World Fansipan Legend and in Bac Ha commune, Si Ma Cai; the Long Tong Festival of the Tay and Giay people in Coc Lau, Chieng Ken, and Bat Xat communes; along with many cultural and artistic activities organized throughout the localities, contributing to enriching tourism products for visitors during the spring festival.

The Bảo Hà Temple, a national historical and cultural relic, was packed with visitors and pilgrims. In the Sa Pa National Tourist Area, the spring atmosphere permeated the streets and avenues. Highlights included festivals from the third day of the Lunar New Year until the full moon of the first lunar month, such as the Spring Festival (opening the gates of heaven), the Spring Festival, the Hàm Rồng Mountain Festival, and the "Sa Pa - A different spring every day" tour, showcasing the traditional rituals and cuisine of five indigenous ethnic groups, offering visitors unique cultural experiences. Most hotels and homestays in Sa Pa were fully booked. The locality expects to welcome approximately 250,000 visitors during the Tet holiday. To ensure the best possible service for tourists during the New Year period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lào Cai province requested localities to strengthen tourism management, control service quality, and strictly handle violations; and to publicize a hotline to promptly receive and address feedback and suggestions from residents and tourists.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, tourism activities in Quang Ninh province took place safely and in a civilized manner, creating a positive impression on visitors during the first days of spring. On the morning of February 17th (the first day of Tet), Ha Long International Cruise Port welcomed nearly 2,400 international tourists on two luxury cruise ships, marking the beginning of a series of six consecutive international cruises to the heritage site during the spring season. Ms. Maria Thompson, a British tourist, shared: “I was very surprised by the warm welcome and extremely impressed with the traditional Vietnamese Tet customs and culture. For me, this is a wonderful start to my journey exploring the heritage of Ha Long Bay.” On the second day of Tet, Co To Special Economic Zone welcomed its first 264 tourists, including 50 visitors to Thanh Lan Island for a spring outing and experience.

In Can Tho, numerous cultural and artistic activities are organized throughout the year, such as New Year's celebrations, traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music performances at Cai Rang floating market, art nights at Ninh Kieu wharf, and a series of events celebrating the Party and the Spring Festival. The distinctive festival atmosphere of the Southern Vietnamese riverine region is carefully recreated, creating a highlight to attract tourists.
