Extending the bridge of friendship and solidarity.

During the days when central and northern Vietnam were struggling amidst storms and floods, the entire nation turned its attention to the flood-stricken areas with countless acts of sharing and compassion.

A pillar of support for our compatriots in distress.

From the warm, sunny land of the South, Ho Chi Minh City once again extends its arms, offering compassion and strength to help people in flood-affected areas overcome difficulties.

Right in September, the Ho Chi Minh City education sector implemented a meaningful plan. On the occasion of the new school year's opening, instead of sending congratulatory flower arrangements, delegates, parents, and students contributed money to support people in the storm-affected areas.

Within just a few days, the movement spread widely, raising over 17 billion VND. Of that amount, 14 billion VND was sent directly by the education sector to the severely affected localities, while 3 billion VND was transferred to the city's relief fund. Behind these figures lies the compassion of tens of thousands of teachers and students, who chose to transform the joy of the first day of school into a gift of sharing with their fellow citizens.

The Ho Chi Minh City arts and culture community also quickly joined in with a spirit of sharing. On October 2nd, singer Ha Anh Tuan and the "Sketch a Rose" program in Los Angeles (USA) contributed 50,000 USD (over 1.3 billion VND) to support people in overcoming the damage caused by the storm. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union received the money to distribute to people in the storm-affected areas.

He shared: “Those who can contribute their strength, those who can contribute their resources, to become a support system for those in need. I only hope to contribute a small part, to alleviate some of the losses in the affected provinces.” The heartfelt words of singer Ha Anh Tuan touched the hearts of many. Many other artists also actively joined hands to support their compatriots with donations totaling billions of dong.

Singer Duc Phuc and Duc Phuc Entertainment also donated 1 billion VND… Previously, many other artists also donated: singer My Tam 500 million VND; Tran Thanh - Hari Won 500 million VND; Hoa Minzy 300 million VND; Ly Hai - Minh Ha family 300 million VND; Truong Giang 300 million VND…

On the afternoon of October 1st, representatives from the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, along with many artists, visited the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to contribute and support the people in need. Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, shared that the city's artists, with their deeply moving hearts and sensitivity to life's changes, are always enthusiastic in dedicating their talents to their kindred spirits and joining hands to contribute to those facing difficulties and hardships. The amount of donations will surely increase, and the artists' compassion will continue to grow and deepen...

From artists to the business community and the general public, the bridge of compassion continues to be built. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of Minh Tuan Mobile system, went all the way to the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper's editorial office to personally donate 100 million VND to support flood victims. At Asia Pacific Door Engineering Co., Ltd. (Tan Hiep Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), union president Le Thi Huong said the company had planned to prioritize donations to areas that suffered heavy human losses.

On the morning of October 2nd, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, along with a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and a delegation from Quang Tri province, directly handed over financial assistance to the people of Nghe An province to help them overcome the consequences of Typhoon No. 10.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics donated 1 billion VND; the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee donated 500 million VND. On the same day, a delegation from Hai Phong City visited and donated 3 billion VND to support the Party Committee, government, and people of Thanh Hoa province in overcoming the damage caused by Typhoon No. 10 and the recent floods.

Transform every major event into an occasion for sharing.

Many agencies and organizations are mobilizing their staff to contribute a day's salary to share with people in flood-affected areas. Political organizations in Ho Chi Minh City are also choosing to turn every major event into an opportunity to share.

At the first meeting of the Thuận Giao Ward Party Committee (2025-2030 term), delegates donated over 35 million VND to people affected by natural disasters. Meanwhile, at the first Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Party Committee, after only 5 minutes of appeals, over 300 delegates donated nearly 400 million VND via QR code. Prior to this, tens of billions of VND had also been raised at many grassroots congresses.

These seemingly dry numbers are the clearest measure of the spirit of "mutual support" deeply ingrained in the lives of the city's residents... Many individuals, including retired officials and veterans, have quietly transferred 500,000 VND or 1 million VND, along with messages such as: "A small contribution to help people stabilize their lives soon." These funds will quickly reach the flood-affected areas, helping people rebuild their homes, reopen schools, and restore their fields.

From the beginning of August 2025 until now, through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the amount of relief money sent to the Central and Northern regions by collectives, individuals, businesses, schools, artists, and people of the city has exceeded 40 billion VND.

In the memories of many, Ho Chi Minh City is not only a vibrant economic center, but also a land of compassion and solidarity. Whenever disaster strikes anywhere in Vietnam, movements of sharing and support are launched from here, without distinction of location or calculation of personal gain. Like a sweet stream flowing from the South, love and compassion continue to extend, warming the hearts of those affected by storms and floods.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front calls for support for those affected by the disaster.

On the afternoon of October 2nd, at the National Assembly building, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly held a fundraising ceremony to support people affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods. At the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and other delegates donated at least one day's salary each to help people overcome damage and stabilize their lives.

On the same day, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a ceremony to launch a campaign to support people affected by Typhoon No. 10. The Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front earnestly appealed, in the spirit of "sharing food and clothing," that those with resources contribute resources, those with skills contribute skills, those with little contribute little, and those with much contribute much.

At the launching ceremony, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front received over 673 billion VND from agencies, units, organizations, and individuals who donated or pledged their support. Immediately at the launching ceremony, the Central Relief Campaign Committee announced the first phase of support from the central relief fund to overcome the consequences of Typhoon No. 10, totaling 265 billion VND for 17 provinces and cities.
