New transportation route - connecting villages and hamlets

This year, Hamlet 5 in Tan Thanh Ward is celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year) with a new look. The Dan Quan canal road, once a "nightmare" during the rainy season with its muddy, slippery surface forcing vehicles to swerve cautiously, has now been paved with concrete, widening to 6.5 meters, allowing trucks and cars to pass easily. This change not only solves the transportation problem but also removes a long-standing bottleneck hindering the trade and daily lives of the residents.

Comrade Lu Quang Ngoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (3rd from the left); Comrade Le Thi Nhung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council (2nd from the right), along with other delegates, attended the inauguration ceremony of the main route of the Can Tho - Hau Giang Expressway component project and the technical opening of the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section on December 19, 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thong, a resident living along this route, said that previously, transporting goods, especially during the rainy season, was very difficult, increasing costs and taking longer. Now, with the road wide and smooth, trading and travel are easier, and everyone is delighted. For the people here, the new road creates conditions for stable livelihoods, improves the quality of life, and allows them to clearly feel the progress of the urban development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tan, Deputy Secretary of the Tan Thanh Ward Youth Union, after the administrative unit merger, the locality focused on urban beautification and infrastructure investment in a synchronized manner. The Dan Quan Canal road is one of the typical projects, contributing to the completion of urban criteria, creating conditions for the development of trade and services, and increasing the value of land in the residential area. Notably, this is the result of high consensus: people voluntarily donated land, dismantled fences and structures to expand the area; the State invested in the construction costs. This joint effort has turned the policy into reality, clearly demonstrating the spirit of "the Party's will and the people's aspirations" on the eve of the new year.

This transformation did not stop in Tan Thanh . In many communes and wards of Ca Mau, concrete roads and bridges were completed one after another before the New Year, connecting hamlets, villages, and wards, shortening travel distances for people.

In Vinh Trach Ward, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, informed that infrastructure projects, including the plan to expand National Highway 91B, will open up more space for urban development and services in the coming time.

The Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway paves the way for development.

While urban roads reflect changes in individual residential areas, the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway embodies a vision for regional connectivity. This key national transportation project creates a new connecting axis between Ca Mau and the central Mekong Delta.

With the completion of the expressway, travel time between localities has been significantly shortened, reducing pressure on existing national highways. More importantly, this route expands opportunities to attract investment, promotes the circulation of goods, develops tourism and logistics services, and gradually integrates Ca Mau more deeply into the regional economic chain.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau Province, Lu Quang Ngoi, affirmed: Synchronized transportation infrastructure will create conditions for people and businesses to effectively exploit potential and advantages, aiming for rapid and sustainable development. Expressways not only serve transportation needs but also act as a driving force for the southern economic region of the Mekong Delta to break through in the new phase.

Viewed from above, the highway winding through the fields resembles a connecting artery nearing completion. This is a concrete example of investment in the future, where infrastructure leads the way, paving the path for development.

In the spring of 2026, on these new roads, the journeys of the people of Ca Mau become more convenient. From small roads in residential areas to large-scale inter-regional connecting projects, all contribute to creating a "spring road network" - a network of faith, hope, and a promising path of development ahead.
