Traffic flows smoothly.
More than 10 years ago, visiting Bu Gia Map commune in Bu Gia Map district, or Dak Nhau and Dang Ha communes in Bu Dang district, would elicit dismay from everyone, as the transportation system was largely comprised of narrow, slippery dirt roads. However, today, the rural transportation system, from main commune routes to inter-village and inter-hamlet roads, has been paved with asphalt and concrete, creating a clean, beautiful, and interconnected landscape. Along with this, tens of billions of dong have been invested in and put into use schools in remote areas, creating a miraculously vibrant rural landscape.
Many rural roads in the remote Dak Nhau area of Bu Dang district have been invested in and constructed, creating seamless connections .
Mr. Dieu Chon, Head of the Front Committee of Hamlet 6, Doan Ket Commune, Bu Dang District, happily stated: "The road system today is spacious, clean, and convenient for traffic. This result is thanks to the attention and investment in rural infrastructure in general, and in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in particular, by our Party and State. The people of Doan Ket Commune, in particular, benefit from many main roads, combined with the installation of streetlights, and the encouragement of people to plant flowers along the roadsides, creating a colorful rural landscape. Currently, along with improved infrastructure, many spacious multi-story houses have been built, and the material and spiritual lives of the people are increasingly improving and flourishing."
As a remote and particularly disadvantaged commune, Bu Gia Map has undergone a significant transformation thanks to its well-connected transportation system, not only through the New Rural Development program but also through the integration of national target programs. According to Nguyen Minh Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Bu Gia Map Commune People's Committee: The commune has over 100km of roads of all types, including 18km of National Highway 14C and nearly 10km of district roads that have been 100% asphalted, wide, and well-maintained, creating convenient and smooth connections not only with other communes in the district but also throughout the province. In addition, over 85% of the main commune, inter-village, and inter-hamlet roads have been asphalted, concreted, or hardened. With the commune set to achieve New Rural Development goals by 2025, construction and improvement will continue.
Modern school
Thanks to various resources, school facilities in Binh Phuoc province, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas, have been invested in and upgraded to meet national standards. By mid-March 2025, 250 out of 390 schools in the province will have met national standards, accounting for 64.1%, and the goal is to reach over 70% by the end of 2025.
Teachers and students at Vo Thi Sau Primary School in Bu Dang district are taught and educated in a spacious, modern school with complete facilities and equipment.
Previously facing significant challenges regarding school infrastructure, schools in Duong 10 commune, Bu Dang district, have now been invested in and are spacious and impressive. Among them, two schools were recognized as meeting national standards level 1 in 2023: Vo Thi Sau Primary School and Thanh Binh Kindergarten.
Vo Thi Sau Primary School has become a prominent landmark not only in Bu Dang district but also in Binh Phuoc province. With a capital investment of 45 billion VND, the school was built on a new 1-hectare plot of land, featuring three multi-story buildings, a kitchen, a gate, a fence, and many other auxiliary facilities, providing a learning environment for nearly 700 students, 57% of whom are from ethnic minority groups. The newly completed school has ended decades of difficulties regarding infrastructure. Ms. Ha Thi Tuyen, who has worked at Vo Thi Sau Primary School for over 20 years, said: "Previously, the old school lacked adequate facilities and teaching equipment. Since moving to the new school with its complete infrastructure—each classroom equipped with a TV, projector, electric fan, and student desks and chairs—students and parents are delighted, and teachers are more motivated in their profession." This is a condition and prerequisite for successfully implementing the 2018 General Education Program, gradually improving the overall quality of education at the school.
Following the construction of Vo Thi Sau Primary School, Dak Nhau Primary School in Bu Dang district is also undergoing new construction on a 1.2-hectare site in the center of the commune, with a budget of 50 billion VND. The project includes three multi-story buildings and other supporting facilities. Construction began in June 2024 and is expected to be completed and put into use by the beginning of the next school year. This is also the largest and most modern primary school project to date in the province, and its completion will address the shortage of facilities in this remote school. The principal of Dak Nhau Primary School, Tran Van Cuong, shared: "The school has a large number of students with 25 classes, but in recent years, we only had 15 classrooms. We lacked 10 classrooms and had to temporarily borrow from other schools, causing difficulties and inadequacies in teaching and learning." The school is currently undergoing new construction, so once completed and put into use, it will meet teaching needs, improve quality, and effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program.
Reduce the gap between regions.
In 2024, Loc Thai commune in Loc Ninh district was one of the first two communes selected by the Provincial People's Committee to build a model new rural area. Chairman of the Loc Thai Commune People's Committee, Phan Thanh Quang, shared: "Based on the results of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas, the selection to build a model new rural area received great consensus from the people. Thanks to the results of building new rural areas, the gap between rural areas, remote areas, and urban areas has been narrowed, eliminating the large disparity seen before. Currently, the level of education has improved, and people are willing to donate land, assets, and labor to invest in the construction of many projects and works alongside the local government. As a result, the physical infrastructure and technical infrastructure have been upgraded synchronously and built in a more solid manner. In particular, thanks to the promotion of communication and guidance on digital technology , electronic transactions, and online transactions, digital transformation has become an integral part of the lives of officials and people, shortening the time and space for administrative transactions."
After 15 years of implementing the national target program for building new rural areas, except for Dong Nai and Nghia Binh communes in Bu Dang district, which were excluded from the target due to bauxite mining planning issues, 84 out of 86 communes in Binh Phuoc have been and are being invested in and developed. Besides the communes that are completing dossiers and procedures or completing outstanding criteria in the construction of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas, Binh Phuoc aims to bring the last commune, Bu Gia Map, to the finish line of new rural areas in 2025. In addition, by 2025, the province aims to have 9 more communes achieve advanced new rural area standards and 7 communes achieve model new rural area standards. |
In 2025, Binh Phuoc is striving to focus on addressing three major issues to create a breakthrough in the New Rural Development program. These are: reducing the disparity in New Rural Development results between localities; promoting the development of production linkages along the value chain; and building a synchronous and progressively modern rural socio-economic infrastructure, ensuring a bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe rural environment and landscape, rich in traditional cultural identity, adapting to climate change, and promoting sustainable development.
Currently, 79 out of 86 communes in Binh Phuoc province have been recognized as meeting the standards for New Rural Development, and 26 communes have met the standards for Advanced New Rural Development.
