The controversy surrounding VSTRA's song "Kiss Me Here" and the organizers of K-Pulse Hanoi 2026 is attracting significant public attention. On the evening of June 7th, VSTRA issued an official statement regarding the use of a derivative version of "Kiss Me Here" at the K-Pulse Hanoi 2026 event.
According to the announcement, VSTRA confirmed that a derivative version of "Kiss Me Here ," created with the support of artificial intelligence (AI), appeared within the program's framework. VSTRA stated that it is coordinating with the CDSL management unit and the legal team to review the entire incident, while awaiting an official response from the K-Pulse Hanoi 2026 Organizing Committee.
In its announcement, VSTRA expressed its appreciation for the audience's support and the fact that the song has been chosen by many artists to perform. However, the singer emphasized that the most important goal is to prevent the use of derivative works that lack full legal basis in order to protect copyright, ensure a positive artistic experience for the public, and avoid affecting the reputation of all parties involved.
"What we are concerned about right now is that the appearance of a derivative work that lacks full legal basis could inadvertently affect performing artists as well as related entities," VSTRA stated.
The singer also affirmed that she is always ready to cooperate with individuals and event organizers in the spirit of respecting copyright, and hopes that the matter will be resolved in a goodwill and transparent manner.
In addition, VSTRA expressed its hope that the program organizers would promptly acknowledge the information, cease using the controversial derivative work, and issue an official announcement to the audience.
To avoid negative arguments arising while awaiting the outcome of the investigation between the parties, VSTRA announced that it will temporarily disable comments under the post updating the case.
Previously, during the K-Pulse Hanoi 2026 concert on the evening of June 6th, a remix version of "Kiss Me Here" was used, combined with AI-generated music, in Jay Park's impromptu performance. Immediately after the show, the use of this version sparked debate on social media regarding copyright and the right to exploit derivative works created using AI technology. The event organizers have yet to comment on this issue.
