On the evening of May 24th, authorities in Langbiang ward, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, were still searching for a 6th-grade girl who was swept away by floodwaters during heavy rains in the area.
According to initial information, at approximately 1:30 PM on the same day, in the stream area bordering B'Nơr B and Đăng Gia Dềt B residential areas (Langbiang ward - Da Lat), a young girl was swept away by floodwaters from upstream while crossing the area.

At the time of the incident, the Langbiang area in Da Lat experienced heavy and prolonged rainfall, causing the stream to rise and flow rapidly. Immediately after receiving the report, local authorities and residents mobilized forces to organize a search along the downstream section of the stream.
By around 7 PM that same day, nearly 60 people from the police, militia, rescue teams, and local residents were still searching for the victim, but without success.
On the afternoon of May 24th, heavy thunderstorms occurred in the central areas of Da Lat and Lac Duong, with hailstorms in many places for a short period. The heavy rain caused water from upstream to flow into the streams at a high volume, posing a potential risk of flash floods, inundation, and landslides.
Immediately afterwards, local authorities issued a warning, advising people to avoid crossing streams and low-lying areas during heavy rain to ensure safety.
