According to Mr. Tran Van Thu, in recent times, the development of communication technology, along with increasing urbanization, has significantly affected the traditional cultural activities of the Muong community, including gong music. Therefore, the preservation and promotion of the value of gong music has been a priority for My Duc commune.

To date, My Duc commune has established 7 gong and drum teams in the following villages: Goc Bang (25 members), Doi Dung (18 members), Nam Hung, Doi Ly, Dinh, Bo Moi, and Thanh Ha (13 members each); and equipped 6 teams with 6 sets of gongs (the Thanh Ha village gong team does not yet have one).

My Duc commune also opened 4 training courses on playing gongs and drums with the participation of 360 trainees including members of gong teams, women's association members, elderly people and influential people from 7 villages: Roc Eo, Dinh, Bo Moi, Doi Ly, Doi Dung, Thanh Ha, and Goc Bang; and opened 3 classes teaching gong and drum playing techniques for students with 210 students participating.

Ms. Pham Thi Phuong, Team Leader of the Goc Bang Village Gong Team, shared that for the Muong people, gongs are not only sacred objects but have also become a unique cultural feature in their spiritual life. For generations, the sound of gongs has always been associated with customs, traditions, and rituals in the spiritual life of the Muong people.

"These classes are a solid foundation for My Duc commune to continue developing its socio -economic aspects while preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Muong ethnic group in the coming years," emphasized Ms. Pham Thi Phuong.

According to Nguyen Quang Duong, Chairman of the People's Committee of My Duc commune, gongs are not simply traditional musical instruments, but also the most important and sacred sounds in the cultural life of the Muong people. Gong culture is a spiritual anchor, creating a sense of unity and is a distinctive cultural heritage deeply rooted in the identity of the Muong ethnic group. Thus, gongs have been passed down through many generations, becoming an indispensable part of the spiritual life of the Muong people.

To keep the sound of the gongs resonating forever, we must first preserve and have people who know how to play and understand the gongs. "Therefore, in the coming time, My Duc commune will continue to effectively implement ethnic affairs and ethnic policies, especially focusing on promoting activities to preserve and develop the traditional cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group, including gong playing, so that the sound of the gongs will continue to resonate," Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong affirmed.
