In early June 2026, residents of Ngoc Loi hamlet were delighted as the new bridge spanning the canal in the hamlet was nearing completion. The bridge, 30 meters long, 3 meters wide, and with a load capacity of 2.5 tons, cost over 450 million VND and was built through social mobilization, with residents contributing funds, donating land, and over 150 days of labor. Securing the necessary funds for the bridge was the result of Mr. Danh Quy's persistent efforts.

Previously, the old bridge, built more than 10 years ago, was dilapidated and no longer met the transportation and goods delivery needs of the local people. Many households wanted a new bridge, but the high cost and the difficult living conditions of the residents prevented it from being implemented. Having been involved with the locality for many years, Mr. Danh Quy understood these inconveniences. He, along with the Party branch and the Front Committee of the hamlet, went from house to house to campaign and connect with philanthropists to support the funding. With the consensus of the people and social resources, more than 450 million VND was raised for the bridge construction, of which the people contributed 10%, the local budget contributed 20%, and philanthropists supported 70%.
Recognized as a reputable figure since 2018, Mr. Danh Quy is currently the Head of the Front Committee and the Team Leader of Ngoc Loi Hamlet. According to him, the most important thing in fundraising is sincerity and transparency. “To be effective in fundraising, I have to go to people's homes and explain specifically so they understand the benefits of the project. It's the same with philanthropists; we must act responsibly and openly to build trust,” Mr. Quy shared.
Besides campaigning for bridge construction, Mr. Quy has been actively involved in local movements for many years. From 2018 to the present, he has campaigned for the construction of 26 solidarity houses, charity houses, and happy houses; built 7 rural traffic bridges; repaired 1,400 meters of roads; and installed solar-powered streetlights along more than 1,600 meters of rural roads. The total cost for these projects and tasks exceeds 6 billion VND. He has also successfully mediated 100 cases, contributing to maintaining unity within the community.
As one of the households that voluntarily donated land for the bridge construction, Mr. Vien The Ut, residing in Ngoc Loi hamlet, said that the people always trusted Mr. Quy, so when he campaigned, the people followed suit. "Mr. Quy always acts openly and transparently, putting the common good first, so when he campaigned, the people were all ready to contribute their labor and resources to make it happen," Mr. Ut said.
Ngoc Loi hamlet currently has 461 households with over 1,600 inhabitants, of which the Khmer ethnic group accounts for about 30%. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Giau - Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Deputy Head of Ngoc Loi hamlet - said that Mr. Danh Quy is an exemplary Party member, close to the people, understands the people, and has made many contributions to social welfare work as well as mediation at the grassroots level, especially among the Khmer people. "Mr. Quy always takes the lead in local movements and is highly trusted and respected by the people," Mr. Giau commented.
According to Huynh Van Trang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Chuc Commune, the commune currently has 9 influential figures among ethnic minority communities. This is an important force in disseminating information and mobilizing the people to implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. Mr. Danh Quy is one of the exemplary individuals who has made significant contributions to the social mobilization efforts in building rural roads and bridges, housing for disadvantaged households, and strengthening national unity.
