OpenAI is about to launch a new product to compete with Google

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên18/02/2024

According to TechSpot , in the past 2 years, OpenAI has continuously made a splash with impressive artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT and Dall-E. And recently, The Information said that the company is quietly developing a search engine, promising to become a formidable rival to Google after more than 20 years of domination.

The new tool is said to be partly based on Bing (a search engine from Microsoft, one of OpenAI’s major investors), but the experience will be similar to Google. Although OpenAI has not officially confirmed it, the fact that ChatGPT is increasingly adding intelligent browsing capabilities, providing a contextual search experience and a conversational one, shows their big ambitions in this field.

OpenAI is reportedly developing a search engine to rival Google.

It’s unclear whether OpenAI’s search engine will be a standalone service like Google Search or integrated into ChatGPT. Some sources speculate that it could become a premium feature for ChatGPT’s paid subscription plan.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has integrated its AI tools into existing products like Bing and Copilot. However, this effort has not been very successful, as the number of users switching to Bing for AI features is still quite modest.

While Microsoft hasn’t succeeded in boosting Bing with AI, OpenAI’s search engine could provide a truly formidable competitor to Google in the next decade. However, the ‘big guy’ Google isn’t sitting still and has been investing heavily in AI for its search engine. They recently renamed the Bard chatbot to Gemini and launched a new Android app that could potentially replace Google Assistant on Android devices. The company even announced Gemini 1.5 with incredible power.
