According to Neowin , Opera users (as well as users of other competing browsers) can now register to win a one-week trip to a secluded island in Iceland. The prize for the winner is $10,000.
The rewards are part of a promotional campaign for the Tab Islands feature.
The choice of location wasn't random, as Opera was promoting one of its newest additions to its feature set: Tab Islands. This feature allows websites open in the tab bar to be grouped and collapsed into a single tab. This is particularly useful for those who frequently open multiple tabs in their browser windows.
Aside from the marketing campaign for Tab Islands, there isn't much more to say about the new initiative. If you're interested in the promotional offer and don't mind traveling to Iceland to spend some time disconnecting from the world , you can sign up on Opera's website.
The winner will receive $10,000, a round-trip air ticket to Iceland's capital Reykjavik, and free transportation to the house on Bjarnarey Island. Notably, the prize also includes a free 7-day stay for two people, meaning the winner won't be completely alone.
There are no specific requirements for the winner; however, applicants must answer a question about their thoughts on Tabfulness – a term frequently used in Opera's marketing communications. The company states that they will select the winner based on the creativity of their answer. Additionally, applicants must participate in an interview with the Opera team before being officially declared the winner.
The contest ends on February 25th, and Opera will announce the winner four days later on X (Twitter).
