Accordingly, by 2025, the City's vegetable cultivation area will be 3.000 hectares (planted area 15.280 hectares), concentrated in Cu Chi, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon districts; Output is estimated at 446 thousand tons, of which vegetable output for processing is 14-18 thousand tons (accounting for about 3-4% of total vegetable output). Every year, 3-4 new vegetable varieties are transferred that are suitable for urban agricultural development conditions in the City, providing the market with 400-500 tons of vegetable seeds of all kinds, meeting 560.000-700.000 hectares of cultivation. The proportion of safe, concentrated vegetable areas with traceability guaranteed reaches 15-20% of the City's total vegetable growing area; High-tech farming area reaches 540-600 hectares (accounting for 18-20% of the total vegetable production area); Organic vegetable production area reaches about 10-15 hectares; Support the construction and development of 2-4 value chains of the vegetable consumption industry in the City; Over 95% of vegetable samples produced in the City are inspected and tested to meet safety standards.
In particular, the City targets the average production value obtained on 1 hectare of vegetable land to reach an average of 700-750 million VND/year.

And the average production value obtained on 1 hectare of vegetable land reaches an average of 800-850 million VND/year, the value of vegetable output using high technology accounting for 60-70% of the total value of vegetables.
The City plans to support the construction and development of 4-6 value chains of the vegetable industry consumed in the City and strive to have 100% of vegetable samples produced in the City inspected to meet safety standards.
To achieve the set goals, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee. Ho Chi Minh requested relevant units to promote regional cooperation in building raw material and preliminary processing areas associated with processing and consumption; Strengthen cooperation with domestic and foreign institutes, schools, and research centers on research and transfer of scientific advances in seeds, machinery, and equipment for high-tech agricultural production; Strengthen cooperation with countries and international organizations on the collection and exchange of vegetable genetic resources; Science and technology in the field of seed production, vegetable production applying high technology, preliminary processing and processing lines of vegetables.
