Launching the "Practical AI Competition" 2026

On the afternoon of June 19th, in Hanoi, Vietnam Television, in collaboration with the National Data Center and the National Data Association, launched the "AI in Action" 2026 competition, with the theme "Creating AI Talent".

Following its inaugural season, which garnered significant attention from the tech community with over 10 million live viewers on television channels and millions of interactions on digital platforms, "AI in Action" 2026 is expected to continue to be a large-scale playground for AI (artificial intelligence) talents nationwide.

A new feature of this year's competition is the increased emphasis on intensive training and coaching for contestants before and during the competition. Participating teams will be guided by experts from both within and outside the country to enhance their practical skills and solve real-world problems using AI technology.

The program is designed as a television game show with multiple rounds of increasing difficulty. Each team consists of a maximum of 3 members, who go through challenges ranging from fundamental knowledge to the ability to apply AI to real-world situations.

The preliminary round of the competition will take place in July 2026. The semi-final round will be held in August, followed by the semi-final round from September to October. The final will take place in the last two months of 2026, and the awards gala is expected to be broadcast live in January 2027.

This year, the top prize includes 1 billion VND in cash along with a scholarship or investment worth 1 million USD. In addition, there is a second prize, two third prizes, and several supplementary prizes for categories such as outstanding data application, promising AI startup, outstanding idea, and innovative AI application.

The organizers stated that all entries in the competition must strictly adhere to regulations regarding safety, personal data security, and must not infringe on national interests, while ensuring ethical standards in artificial intelligence development.
