Launching the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the spring of the Year of the Dragon 2023, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, emphasized: Following Uncle Ho's teachings: "Spring is the time for planting trees, making the country ever more beautiful," and continuing the fine traditions of the nation, in recent years, every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes and spring arrives, all levels, sectors, and people throughout the province have regularly maintained the movement of planting trees and forests.

This is a meaningful undertaking, making an important contribution to disaster prevention, socio-economic development while protecting the ecological environment and responding to climate change.

In accordance with Decision No. 524/QD-TTg dated April 1, 2021, of the Prime Minister approving the Project to plant one billion trees in the period 2021-2025, over the past year, the entire province has planted over 11,500 hectares of forest and over 3 million scattered trees; and produced over 30 million high-quality forestry seedlings of various types to organize concentrated forest planting effectively.

The output of timber harvested from planted forests for consumption reached over 1 million , ensuring a stable supply of raw materials for the wood processing industry inside and outside the province; forest cover reached approximately 49.9%, making an important contribution to stabilizing the ecological environment, landscape, and mitigating the consequences of climate change.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, the situation with natural disasters is becoming increasingly complex, with extreme weather events on the rise, causing significant damage to people and property, and affecting people's lives. Therefore, the task of reforestation is urgent and long-term.

Therefore, we call on all sectors of the population to actively participate in planting trees, reforestation, and forest protection and development. Emphasis should be placed on planting trees along urban roads, in densely populated residential areas, cultural and historical sites; planting trees in the grounds of agencies, industrial zones and clusters, schools, hospitals, around houses, gardens, along roadsides, riverbanks, canal banks, and hilly areas...

The sectors and localities have effectively implemented the targets and tasks for sustainable forestry development in 2023 and the program to plant one billion trees in the period 2021-2025 in the province, in conjunction with the targets and tasks for sustainable forestry development until 2030.
