Huge shipment of electronics suspected of being smuggled discovered

On May 31, the Market Management Force of Bac Ninh province coordinated with Yen Phong District Police and the Economic Police Department, Bac Ninh Provincial Police to conduct a surprise search of the warehouse of Viet Tuong Thuan Company Limited, located in Dong Yen village, Dong Phong commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province.

The warehouse is owned by Ms. Ly Thi Duan, with permanent residence in Lao Cai.

In a warehouse area of nearly 2,000 m2, the Inspection Team discovered nearly 23,000 products belonging to groups such as electronics, cosmetics, clothing, and household electrical appliances neatly and professionally arranged on shelves, all showing signs of smuggling and of unknown origin.

A typical example is a shipment of over 3,000 products including phones, tablets, and smart watches without labels, of unknown origin, and showing signs of smuggling. This is one of the largest electronic shipments discovered and seized by the Market Management Force in coordination with the Police in Bac Ninh province in particular and the whole country in general.

In addition, the authorities also seized nearly 20,000 other products including household appliances, cosmetics, and clothing.

The company representative was identified as Ms. Ly Thi Duan, Director, with permanent residence in Lao Cai. Initially working with the authorities, Ms. Duan was unable to present invoices or documents proving the legality of all the above goods.

The inspection team has drawn up a record of temporary detention and sealing of all goods with signs of violations to investigate and clarify the behavior and handle them according to the provisions of law.
