Huge shipment of electronics suspected of being smuggled discovered

On May 31st, the Market Management Force of Bac Ninh province, in coordination with the Yen Phong District Police and the Economic Police Department of Bac Ninh Provincial Police, conducted a surprise inspection of the warehouse of Viet Tuong Thuan Co., Ltd., located in Dong Yen village, Dong Phong commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province.

Authorities discover a massive shipment of electronic goods suspected of being smuggled (image 1).

The warehouse is owned by Ms. Ly Thi Duan, whose permanent residence is in Lao Cai.

In a warehouse spanning nearly 2,000 square meters, the inspection team discovered nearly 23,000 products belonging to categories such as electronics, cosmetics, clothing, and household appliances, neatly and professionally arranged on shelves, all showing signs of being smuggled or lacking clear origin.

A typical example is a shipment of over 3,000 products, including phones, tablets, and smartwatches, that lacked labels, were of unknown origin, and showed signs of being smuggled. This is one of the largest electronic shipments discovered and seized by market management forces in coordination with the police in Bac Ninh province in particular and the whole country in general.

In addition, authorities also seized nearly 20,000 other products including household goods, cosmetics, and clothing.

The company representative was identified as Ms. Ly Thi Duan, Director, with permanent residence in Lao Cai. Initially, during questioning by authorities, Ms. Duan was unable to produce invoices or documents proving the legality of all the goods in question.

The inspection team proceeded to draw up a report temporarily seizing and sealing all goods showing signs of violation in order to investigate and clarify the act and handle it according to the law.
