A variety of gifts

Observations at several retail systems in Hanoi on June 1st showed that the children's toy sections attracted a large number of parents bringing their children to browse and choose gifts. Many items priced from 50,000 to 100,000 VND, such as sand play sets, outdoor activity toys, coloring sets, simple building blocks, and creative handicrafts, were prominently displayed with various promotional programs.

According to representatives from several supermarkets, the demand for children's gifts this year is trending towards more practical options. Instead of searching for expensive products, many families prioritize gifts that are affordable but still meet the needs for play, learning, and skill development for children.

In the children's toy section of a supermarket in Hanoi, many products priced between 89,000 and 99,000 VND attracted significant customer interest. Items such as active play toys, beach toys, nature exploration kits, and products supporting outdoor activities were popular choices among parents as the summer holidays began.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha (Tu Liem ward, Hanoi) said that instead of buying expensive gifts, her family prefers to let their children choose their favorite items themselves. "There are quite a variety of products under 100,000 VND available, which are both affordable and bring joy to the children on June 1st," Ms. Ha shared.

Products that encourage creative thinking attract customers.

Retail experts believe that, in the context of increasingly cautious consumer spending, the affordable gift segment continues to play a leading role in the children's market. The advantage of competitive pricing and diverse designs allows this product group to reach a wide range of customers, especially families with young children.

Beyond just price, many parents are now paying more attention to the educational value and physical activity that toys provide. Products that encourage interaction, physical activity, or creative thinking are being preferred over toys that are purely for entertainment.

This year, for International Children's Day, the gift market has seen abundant supply and stable prices. With a modest budget, many families can easily find suitable gifts to bring joy to their children on this special day.

To prevent the smuggling of toys during Children's Day, the Hanoi Market Management Department has directed its teams to focus on inspecting, controlling, and handling violations by organizations and individuals trading in smuggled children's toys that incite violence. Emphasis is placed on checking the origin, invoices, labeling, conformity certificates, and other regulations governing children's toys.

To prevent consumers from buying smuggled or counterfeit toys, the Head of the Hanoi Market Management Department, Trinh Quang Duc, advises: Imported toys must have a supplementary label in Vietnamese with complete product information. Before purchasing, consumers should check the information on the product labels to choose products suitable for their age and needs. Only buy and use children's toys that have been certified as compliant with regulations.
