Following Uncle Ho's example...

The Veterans Association of Quang Trach commune has 1,380 members, participating in activities at 40 sub-associations under 13 branches, including 298 Party members, 192 female members, 109 Catholic members, and 653 members receiving retirement benefits, disability benefits, and benefits related to Agent Orange exposure.

Mr. Pham Van Thanh, Chairman of the Veterans Association of Quang Trach commune, said: "The emulation of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings is implemented by all levels of the association in conjunction with the emulation movements 'Exemplary Veterans' and 'Veterans Helping Each Other Reduce Poverty and Excel in Economic Activities ,' with the most prominent being the 'Skilled People's Mobilization' models, such as: 'Building a Peaceful Religious Community,' 'Security in Religious Areas,' 'Unity Between Catholics and Non-Catholics,' 'Exemplary Veterans Mobilizing the People to Develop the Economy,' 'Exemplary Veterans Donating Land, Trees, and Assets to Expand Roads,' and 'Veterans Participating in Maintaining Security and Order at the Grassroots Level'..."

Following Uncle Ho's example means actively responding to movements such as: "The whole country joins forces to build new rural areas," "For the poor - no one should be left behind," "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses," and the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"...

During the period 2016-2026, the veterans' association members in Quang Trach commune donated and contributed to social welfare funds, humanitarian funds, and charitable funds, totaling over 7.5 billion VND; mobilized support for people affected by natural disasters and floods, raising nearly 1 billion VND; collaborated with local Party committees, authorities, and sponsors to demolish 22 temporary and dilapidated houses, costing over 770 million VND; built 10 "Comradeship Houses" worth 900 million VND; and contributed over 950 man-days to the "Nationwide efforts to build new rural areas" and "Building model rural areas" movements.

Following Uncle Ho's example is also reflected in the attention given by the Veterans' Associations at all levels to fostering revolutionary ideals and ethics in the younger generation. With the motto: "Wherever there is a Veterans' Association, there are no weak youth branches," through exchanges, seminars, and traditional talks, the Veterans' Association has attracted and gathered young people, improving the quality and effectiveness of education , building awareness and a sense of responsibility for the community and love for the homeland among the youth," Mr. Pham Van Thanh shared.

...And follow Uncle Ho's example.

Huong Phuong village in Quang Trach commune is a predominantly Catholic village. According to Mr. Cao Xuan Tuan, Secretary of the Huong Phuong Village Party Branch: The village has 20 Party members who have become the core force in all movements, mobilizing Catholic parishioners to build a new life based on the spirit of "Reverence for God, love for the country. Living a good life and upholding moral values."

The Veterans Association branch in the village, with 77 members, is the "core" of the "core force," pioneering, exemplary, and daring in all movements, from economic development and helping each other escape poverty to mobilizing people to donate land and clear the ground for the construction of key provincial and national projects.

“Following Uncle Ho's example, the Huong Phuong Veterans Association is determined to follow his teachings through models such as ‘Skilled mass mobilization in religious areas,’ ‘Building peaceful religious communities,’ ‘Security in religious areas,’ ‘Unity between Catholics and non-Catholics,’ ‘Exemplary veterans mobilizing people to develop the economy,’ and ‘Exemplary veterans donating land, trees, and assets to expand transportation routes,’” said Mr. Nguyen Manh De, head of the Huong Phuong village Veterans Association.

In economic development, Mr. Pham Thuan, a veteran, is a prime example of a successful producer and businessman in Huong Phuong village. With a farm spanning approximately 8,000 square meters, Mr. Thuan cultivates fruit trees such as jackfruit, custard apple, and mango, digs a pond for fish farming, and raises over 1,000 laying hens, investing in an egg incubator. On average, his farm supplies the market with about 7,000 chicks per month. On average, Mr. Thuan earns hundreds of millions of dong annually.

“I think learning from and following Uncle Ho's example is very simple, very everyday, always maintaining the spirit of a 'Ho Chi Minh's soldier,' daring to act and daring to take responsibility. When family life improves, try to help comrades and people so that everyone has a stable economy,” veteran Pham Thuan shared.

For veterans Tran Xuan Minh and Cao Xuan An, pioneers in donating land for the North-South expressway and the bypass connecting National Highway 12A to National Highway 1 passing through their village, following Uncle Ho's teachings simply means daring to sacrifice a part of personal interests for the benefit of their homeland and country.

Therefore, Mr. Tran Xuan Minh's family donated a portion of their land and handed over 2,500 square meters of farmland to the bypass project connecting National Highway 12A to National Highway 1; Mr. Cao Xuan An's family handed over over 3,000 square meters of forest land to serve the construction of the North-South Expressway.

Pioneering role models like veterans Tran Xuan Minh and Cao Xuan An have motivated more than 50 households in Huong Phuong village to accept compensation and resettlement plans, promptly handing over the land for the construction of the North-South expressway and the bypass connecting National Highway 12A to National Highway 1.

Through creative and flexible approaches in implementing movements and campaigns launched by the Veterans Association, and by skillfully and scientifically combining learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example, the Veterans Association of Quang Trach commune has become a prime example of "Learning and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh," receiving a commendation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association for outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" in 2025 and a commendation for "Promoting the learning and following of Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, ethics, and style in the period 2016-2026," added Mr. Hoang Xuan Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association.
