Diverse research content on intercultural studies
An overview of intercultural philosophy; promoting intercultural education through preparing teachers in multicultural competence; addressing the tension between equality and diversity in multicultural education according to the UNESCO Convention against Discrimination in Education; multiculturalism and the teaching of French in Vietnam… are among the topics discussed at the 5th International Conference on Culture and Education (ICCE 2024) with the theme “Intercultural Education in the Context of Integration”.
Delegates, domestic and international guests, along with numerous scholars, experts, scientists , and students, gathered to discuss, share, and seek effective solutions to the challenges facing education in today's context of integration.
In his presentation on the topic of "Communicating about Hanoi's culture in the digital media environment," Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of the Economic & Urban Newspaper, shared two main points: cultural convergence in convergent media and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of communicating Hanoi's culture.
Accordingly, in the context of today's rapidly developing communication technology, cultural convergence is a new and emerging cultural form. Cultural communication plays an essential role in preserving, promoting, and disseminating cultural values to the community. In reality, cultural communication helps preserve and introduce the traditional cultural values of a nation, especially intangible heritage. Cultural communication is also a tool for building and developing the cultural identity of each country and region; it helps connect generations, communities, and different social groups through the sharing of common cultural values...

To enhance the effectiveness of Hanoi's cultural communication, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi proposed four solutions: strengthening communication about the capital's cultural heritage, history, and cuisine; utilizing digital technology in cultural communication and developing public cultural and artistic spaces; developing diverse cultural communication content and creative, rich forms; and diversifying communication methods through workshops, seminars, and strengthening international media cooperation.
"Continuing to promote Hanoi's culture in the digital media environment is essential to preserve and disseminate fine traditional values, while contributing to the comprehensive development of tourism, economy, and local identity in the context of international integration – fulfilling the aspiration to make Hanoi develop rapidly, strongly, and sustainably," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi emphasized.
Choosing the topic "Intercultural Communication in Integration and Sustainable Development in Vietnam," Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha from the Regional Political Academy I explains: in the era of international integration, intercultural communication is an essential activity, and the key to success in this process is understanding each other's cultures. When we are prepared with knowledge and have grasped the other party's culture, we can avoid inappropriate communication situations, or even unwanted conflicts.
Within the framework of the Conference, more than 300 delegates representing 9 co-organizing units, domestic and international guests, along with numerous scholars, experts, scientists, and students, discussed various topics; sharing and seeking effective solutions to the challenges that education is facing in the context of today's integration.
It sparks many new ideas for researchers.
The 5th International Conference on Culture and Education (ICCE 2024) is considered a significant forum for scientists passionate about culture and education.

Interesting topics on philosophy, law, and the general state of cultural development, especially in countries like France, Japan, and Thailand, received enthusiastic participation from scholars. In addition to the presented reports, many questions were raised and discussed vigorously, sparking numerous new ideas for future researchers.
In addition to the plenary session, in the thematic sessions, a total of 45 authors and groups of authors presented papers in 6 subcommittees on various topics, including general issues of interculturalism and education, and intercultural categories (intercultural education in the university environment, education of intercultural values in the general education environment, cultural education and political issues, intercultural issues in literature and art, etc.).
Despite their differing perspectives and topics, researchers have reached a common point: intercultural education aims to promote communication between different cultures and facilitate the integration of each nation into a shared world. Intercultural education is a pressing need for every country in the trend of global integration.
Concluding the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Vice Rector of the University of Education, Hue University, expressed his belief that through this workshop, many intercultural values will continue to be promoted in the educational work of schools as well as in society; so that cultural values will endure and fulfill their mission.

The university always hopes to have the opportunity to interact, exchange ideas, and learn from experts and scientists both domestically and internationally to contribute to improving the quality of education at the university, thereby affirming its position and making solid progress in the future."
At the conference, the participating units unanimously agreed to transfer the hosting rights for the 6th conference in 2025 to the University of Education - Thai Nguyen University.
