
The food poisoning incident involving hundreds of people is believed to be linked to Hong Van bread.
Accordingly, the Department of Health is tasked with leading and coordinating with the Provincial Center for Disease Control, the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department, and relevant localities to conduct investigations and collect samples for testing to determine the cause of the incident. At the same time, they are to ensure timely emergency care and treatment for those affected by food poisoning, minimizing risks to health and life.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested increased inspections and checks, including surprise inspections, of small-scale food production and business establishments, street food vendors, catering services, collective dining halls, and markets in the province; and resolutely suspend operations, recall, and dispose of food that does not meet safety standards.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Department of Health, will trace the origin of food, monitor risks of food poisoning, and promote awareness campaigns on preventing and controlling food poisoning. The People's Committees of communes and wards will proactively inspect, handle violations, and promptly report incidents when they occur.

In recent days, the number of patients suspected of food poisoning from Hong Van bread has been steadily increasing.
As reported by the Economic & Urban Newspaper, since December 11th, hospitals in Quang Ngai province have received numerous cases with symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and high fever suspected to be due to consuming Hong Van bread. Initial inspections at the production facility at 280 Nguyen Nghiem Street (Cam Thanh Ward) and related sales points revealed many food safety violations. Authorities have sealed food samples and ordered a temporary suspension of business operations to facilitate the investigation.
The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) has also sent a document requesting the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health to urgently investigate and handle this case.
