Area designated for project deployment.

According to the decision, the project will be built in the two communes of Tan Dien and Go Cong Dong, Dong Thap province.

The project comprises two components: a wave-reducing dike and the repair of the existing dike surface. The wave-reducing dike includes the following investment components: Section 1 (connecting the Tan Thanh wave-reducing dike from the north to the Rach Bun sluice gate) with a length of approximately 5,789 m; and Section 2 (connecting the Tan Thanh wave-reducing dike from the south, extending towards the Tieu estuary) with a length of approximately 1,028 m.

According to the design, the wave-reducing dike has a hollow structure made of reinforced concrete components placed offshore and assembled to form a wave-reducing dike; the inner wave-reducing dike and breakwater are made of TC1 wave-reducing components; the components are arranged on a raft of mangrove piles and geotextile fabric to prevent subsidence, and a layer of crushed stone serves to create a flat surface and friction during component installation, thus increasing the stability of the structure…

Specifically, the project involves repairing the existing dike surface, which is 2,500 meters long and 7.5 meters wide. In addition, to ensure traffic safety, the project includes the following items along the dike: installing guardrails combined with scenic elements for tourism on both the seaward and inland sides, and painting lines to divide the dike's centerline.

The project is managed by the Dong Thap Provincial Project Management Board for Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Projects. The total investment for the project is nearly 336 billion VND, sourced from both the central and local government budgets.

Of this, 281 billion VND will come from the central government budget, with the remainder invested by the local government budget. The project will be implemented over 4 years, from 2025 to 2028.

The project aims to invest in the construction of works that are synchronized and effective with the already invested section, prevent coastal erosion, create land for mangrove restoration, ensure safety and property for people, protect the Go Cong sea dike, and reduce damage from natural disasters.

At the same time, sustainable development of tourism potential, marine economy, infrastructure construction, and national defense and security will contribute to attracting investment and developing the province's tourism and marine economy.
