Jumbo revolves around Don, a 10-year-old orphan boy often called "Jumbo" by his friends because of his chubby physique and shy personality. Don's life changes when he accidentally discovers a fairy tale book left behind by his parents and meets Meri, a magical little fairy.

Together, Don and Meri enter a fantastical world where lessons about courage, friendship, and self-worth are gradually revealed. Jumbo 's world isn't just for children; it's a space where adults can also reflect on themselves: forgotten wounds, pushed-away dreams, and the yearning for recognition.
The film was conceived and produced over a period of five years by Visinema Studios, a prominent Indonesian film company. Director Ryan Adriandhy, along with the screenwriters and animators, poured their hearts into every frame, combining modern animation technology with a distinctly East Asian storytelling style.

The film also features voice acting by a leading cast including Prince Poetiray (Don), Quinn Salman (Meri), and Bunga Citra Lestari (Don's mother), and has received many positive reviews from international critics and audiences.
Variety magazine commented: "Jumbo is proof that Southeast Asia can absolutely create global stories." Meanwhile, Cinema Today gave it the review: "One of the best animated films of the year. Subtle, profound, and full of emotion."
In terms of box office performance, after just one week of release in Indonesia, Jumbo attracted over 1 million viewers, and reached 2 million tickets sold on its 11th day. The film has now grossed over $10 million USD in the domestic market, making it the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Indonesia to date.
This is also the highest-grossing animated film in Southeast Asia. Previously, this record belonged to Mechamato Movie (2022) with a revenue of $7.68 million.
Jumbo has now grossed over $26 million at the box office.

Not only did the film become a phenomenon in its home country, it also made its mark on the international market, securing distribution rights in 17 countries including Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei, Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltic and Central Asian countries.
In Vietnam, the film premiered on August 8th with both subtitled and dubbed versions.
