Preventing school violence, building a friendly educational environment

Moral education, lifestyle, life skills and prevention of violence against women are among the key tasks of comprehensive education, so in recent times, Thanh Son B Primary School (Le Hong Phong Ward, Phu Ly City) has implemented many practical activities, such as: Propaganda under the flag at the beginning of the week, integrating the content of preventing and combating violence against women through thematic activities, traditional talks, inviting ward police officers, Youth Union to coordinate propaganda; posting banners, slogans, propaganda posters, propaganda corners in the library, classroom bulletin boards for students to regularly access information; implementing the model "Friends helping friends", "Squad No School Violence", mailbox "What I Want to Say" to help students share, contributing to building a safe and friendly school environment. At the same time, launching the commitment "Say no to school violence", each class writes the commitment and posts it on the collective propaganda board.

Thanks to the synchronous and persistent implementation of propaganda andeducation solutions, the awareness of students at Thanh Son B Primary School has been significantly improved. They know how to distinguish between right and wrong behavior, are positive in their behavior, and know how to say sorry - thank you - love. Conflicts, quarrels, and teasing have significantly decreased. Students proactively reconcile and know how to seek support from teachers and friends; boldly share through channels such as "Mailbox of what I want to say" and through homeroom teachers. Thanks to that, the classes are always united, the school environment is safe, friendly and positive.

Extracurricular activities on the topic of preventing school violence for students of class 11A1, Nguyen Huu Tien High School (Duy Tien).

In recent years, Nguyen Huu Tien High School (Duy Tien town) has regularly coordinated with the police force to build a model for preventing and combating school violence, "Friendly school, safe in terms of security and order" (ANTT). According to teacher Tran Xuan Vui, Principal of the school, the model is implemented with criteria and key tasks to promote propaganda and education on the harmful effects of school violence for staff, teachers and students. In addition, the school also maintains a School Youth Union fanpage, integrating propaganda and instructions on how to handle situations when school violence occurs into civic education subjects and experiential activities. Organize 100% of students to sign a commitment to strictly comply with the provisions of the law on ensuring security and order and preventing and combating school violence. In addition, the school also established a School Psychology Counseling Team to promptly grasp and resolve students' concerns and difficulties.

In order to raise awareness of teachers and students about preventing and combating domestic violence, and to build a safe and friendly school environment, every year, the Department of Education and Training (DoET) has issued an official dispatch directing educational institutions to strengthen life skills education, build a culture of behavior in schools, provide psychological counseling for students, and educate about behavioral change in preventing and combating domestic violence. On that basis, schools proactively develop plans to organize propaganda on preventing and combating domestic violence according to the characteristics of each school; flexibly and creatively apply forms of propaganda on preventing and combating domestic violence for students through programs and activities. Coordination between schools and the police force and the youth union is also carried out throughout the school year. Extracurricular activities, flag salutes, and dissemination of legal education, in which the topic of preventing and combating domestic violence is prominent. In addition, schools regularly launch legal knowledge competitions, integrate the content of preventing and combating domestic violence into cultural and artistic activities, creating excitement for students.

In particular, in 2022, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Provincial Police to organize a conference to sign and deploy a plan to coordinate in promoting propaganda on preventing and combating child abuse in educational institutions in the province for the period 2022-2027. The coordination between the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Police, agencies, departments, branches, unions and educational institutions was deployed and implemented synchronously and drastically with many contents and solutions and achieved positive results. In particular, the parties coordinated, advised and directed the implementation of directives, resolutions, programs and plans of the Party, State, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Education and Training , Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee; built and replicated advanced models and typical examples; grasped the situation, promptly detected, prevented and handled child abuse...

In the coming time, in order for the work of preventing and combating domestic violence to be truly effective, it is necessary to continue to coordinate and join hands with families, schools, sectors, organizations and the whole society. Along with that, each student needs to practice a healthy lifestyle, behave culturally, strictly comply with school regulations and legal regulations. Schools and families need to pay attention to and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of students and their children to coordinate in taking timely educational, intervention and handling measures.
