Legendary Filipino billiards player Efren Reyes will perform an exhibition match at the Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2023 on October 14th.

The Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2023 took place from October 10th to 15th at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Stadium. This was the first tournament in Asia to be part of the prestigious World 9-Ball Tour's open series, alongside the US Open, UK Open, European Open, and Spanish Open.
The tournament features 128 Vietnamese and 128 international players. Vietnamese billiards fans will have the opportunity to watch many high-level players live, such as world number one Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz, number two Shane Van Boening, number five Fedor Gorst... Notably, "wizard" Efren Reyes will be in Hanoi to perform an exhibition match on the penultimate day of the tournament.
Reyes, born in 1954, is considered one of the world's greatest billiards legends, having won almost all major titles such as the US Open, Challenge of Champions, and World Pool League Championship during his nearly 40-year career. He was also honored as the Player of the Year in 1995, the World Champion in 1999, and has a star on the American Billiards Hall of Fame.
The Filipino billiards player received great admiration from Vietnamese fans when he competed at the 31st SEA Games in 2022.

The Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2023, organized by Matchroom in collaboration with Vietcontent, boasts a total prize pool of $200,000 USD. Matchroom CEO Emily Frazer shared the reason for choosing Hanoi as the venue: "Hanoi is the perfect place to host this tournament. It has a huge number of passionate billiards fans. The skill level of the local players is also quite high, on par with the world's best."
