Phùng Khánh Linh isn't the kind of hugely popular artist everyone knows; in fact, she has a rather introverted style. Yet, strangely enough, her name is always trending on entertainment forums.

The album "Among Ten Thousand People" delves deeper into the concept, not simply recreating a musical trend; and Phung Khanh Linh's vocals "are like an intersection of Friday night's cheerful optimism and Monday morning's melancholy."

Sometimes they become "unintentional" cosplay trendsetters, and other times they are remembered by audiences for their hilarious and quirky content.

So much so that online, Phung Khanh Linh is called the "queen of unconventional content," even though she doesn't create the content; the content finds it for her.

In music, the image of a petite girl with long, flowing platinum blonde hair, a mesmerizing, surreal, and mysterious fashion style unlike anyone else in showbiz, has been associated with Phùng Khánh Linh since her single " Ước anh tan nát con tim" (I Wish You'll Break My Heart ) released in September 2024.

This also marks her return after a two-year hiatus and is the opening track for her third studio album. Among ten thousand people.

Linh shared that her current image is part of the concept for her album "Among Ten Thousand People ," helping her feel confident and express her true artistic self.

What will happen next... Linh doesn't know yet because she herself doesn't want to be "boxed in" or "labeled" with any particular image.

And in fact, looking back at her journey, Phung Khanh Linh has already stood out among thousands of people. With "Among Ten Thousand People ," Phung Khanh Linh continues to demonstrate her ambition to be an artist who is both a songwriter and a performer of her generation.

From the vibrant, energetic city pop of the previous album, the musical space here is darker, more subdued, deeper, and more experiential.

Linh shared that her biggest goal for the new year is to "conquer the stage in front of 20,000 people; and constantly experiment with new musical genres."

This is perhaps the album where Linh is most relaxed and tells her own story through music. She incorporates alternative pop, pop rock, punk... sometimes bright, sometimes dark, both relaxing and dramatic, a product that musician Huy Tuan calls "rare in Vietnamese music".

Instead of running away from sadness like in her previous album, Citopia, with this album, Linh chose to engage in inner dialogue, accepting and overcoming the pain to achieve serenity.

Phùng Khánh Linh told Tuổi Trẻ newspaper that, during her 10 years in the profession, there were times when she felt like a "bird adrift."

However, many things in life have taught her to be stronger: "I bow my head in gratitude to music, because I still have a light to guide me home in the misty night."

Recently, Phùng Khánh Linh hasn't been nominated for major (popular) music awards, but she received the highest score in the Album of the Year category from PIPA - Producer's Inside Picks & Awards (an award established by musicians and producers Huy Tuấn, Hồ Hoài Anh, Nguyễn Hoàng Duy, OnlyC, and Mew Amazing).

According to musician Huy Tuan, with the album "Amidst Ten Thousand People ," "Phung Khanh Linh has affirmed her own path with a distinctive musical language, asserting the personality of a singer-songwriter who can go a long way."
