Bui Huu Nghia Ward has achieved the standard of a civilized urban ward.

(CT) - On March 26, Bui Huu Nghia ward, Binh Thuy district, held a ceremony to announce the decision recognizing the ward as a "Civilized urban area".

Mr. Duong The Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, presented certificates of commendation from the Director of the Department to individuals who have made significant contributions to building "Wards that meet the standards of civilized urban areas".

Accordingly, after two years (2023-2024) of focused implementation, Bui Huu Nghia ward has achieved 9 standards and 52 criteria for building a civilized urban ward and has been recognized by the People's Committee of Binh Thuy district as a ward meeting the standards of a civilized urban area. Most notably, the criteria related to planning, urban governance, transportation, environment and food safety, security, order, information, communication, employment, and average income have been met.

In 2024, Bui Huu Nghia ward had no more poor households; healthcare and education were invested in to meet standards, satisfying the health care needs of the people as well as teaching and learning activities. Cultural, artistic, and sports facilities developed strongly, with 98.13% of families achieving the standard of a cultured family; political security and order were strengthened and stabilized...

At the ceremony, collectives and individuals who made significant contributions to building "Wards meeting the standards of a civilized urban area" were commended by the People's Committee of Can Tho City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city, and the People's Committee of Binh Thuy District.
