(NADS) - In the arid land of Ninh Thuan, after many sunny seasons, the vineyards still bear fruit, attracting many tourists to visit.
"Gift" of Ninh Thuan
Everyone thinks that Ninh Thuan with its harsh climate can only grow drought-resistant plants like cacti. However, Vinh Hai commune of this province is the “capital” of grapes with a variety of grape varieties such as: green grapes, red grapes, candy grapes, finger grapes, Japanese pink grapes, peony grapes, etc.
Grapes have been grown in Ninh Thuan since 1960. With nine months of sunshine a year and adequate rainfall, Ninh Thuan has turned out to be a "promised land" for grapes. Today, grapes are not only the main source of income for the people, but also account for 20% of the total agricultural production value of the province.
With the largest grape production in the country, Ninh Thuan currently has over 1,000 hectares of grape cultivation, concentrated in the districts of Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Ninh Son, Thuan Nam and Phan Rang - Thap Cham city. It can be said that this is not only the main economic source but also the pride of the local people.
"Leverage" tourism for the whole province
Every summer, the image of bunches of grapes full of fruit in Ninh Thuan attracts many tourists to visit. Not only taking souvenir photos, visitors can also pick bunches of plump grapes and enjoy the sweet taste in a fresh green space. This is a unique experience, connecting people and nature that is rarely found anywhere else.
In particular, the convenient location of the vineyards on the route leading to famous landmarks such as Vinh Hy Bay, Rai Cave or Ninh Thuan Stone Park has turned the vineyards into ideal stops for tourists. With the combination of agriculture and tourism, local cooperatives are constantly improving their services, building diverse brands, aiming to bring visitors memorable experiences.
According to Mr. Nguyen Khac Phong, Director of Thai An General Agricultural Service Cooperative (Vinh Hai Commune, Ninh Hai District), the vineyard is equipped with professional reception and explanation skills, and diversified services to create greater attraction. When visiting, visitors not only enjoy the sweet taste of grapes but also feel the hospitality and sincerity of the people here.
Ninh Thuan’s vineyards are not only a symbol of life growing from barren land, but also a bridge between nature and people. Each bunch of grapes is the result of many efforts and the spirit of overcoming difficulties, a testament to the changes of this land. Thanks to that, Ninh Thuan not only attracts tourists by its majestic natural scenery but also by the unique cultural experiences from sweet grapes.
