(NADS) - Amidst the arid land of Ninh Thuan, through countless sunny seasons, the vineyards still bear abundant fruit, attracting many tourists to visit.

"A gift" from Ninh Thuan

Everyone thinks that Ninh Thuan, with its harsh climate, can only cultivate drought-resistant plants like cacti. However, Vinh Hai commune in this province is the "capital" of grapes, boasting a diverse range of grape varieties such as green grapes, red grapes, candy grapes, finger grapes, Japanese pink grapes, and peony grapes…

Grapevines first appeared in Ninh Thuan in 1960. With nine months of sunshine a year and sufficient rainfall, Ninh Thuan turned out to be a "promised land" for grape cultivation. To date, grapevines are not only a major source of income for the people but also account for up to 20% of the province's total agricultural production value.

With the largest grape production in the country, Ninh Thuan currently has over 1,000 hectares of vineyards, concentrated mainly in the districts of Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Ninh Son, Thuan Nam, and the city of Phan Rang - Thap Cham. It can be said that this is not only a major source of income but also a source of pride for the local people.

Tourism "Leverage" for the entire province

Every summer, the sight of abundant grape clusters in Ninh Thuan attracts many tourists. It's not just about taking souvenir photos; visitors can also pick ripe grapes themselves and enjoy their sweet taste in a refreshing green setting. This is a unique experience, connecting people and nature, that is rarely found elsewhere.

In particular, the convenient location of the vineyards along the route to famous landmarks such as Vinh Hy Bay, Rai Cave, or Ninh Thuan Stone Park has made them ideal stops for tourists. With the combination of agriculture and tourism, local cooperatives are constantly improving services and building diverse brands to provide visitors with memorable experiences.
