The significance of the activities in response to the campaign.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a plan to organize the fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025. Accordingly, activities in response will take place from April 15 to May 2 nationwide. The implementation of activities for Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 is linked to the fulfillment of political tasks and major national holidays in 2025; promoting the value of books and reading culture in the community; and defining the responsibilities of all levels, sectors, and localities in developing reading culture.

In keeping with the joyful atmosphere of the whole country, and as a practical way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), and in response to Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) and World Book and Copyright Day (April 23) this year, several localities in the province have organized book promotion and introduction competitions for 2025.

At the provincial level, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently collaborated with the Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial Labor Federation, and the Provincial Youth Union to organize a book promotion and presentation competition with the theme "50 Years of National Flourishing," featuring 9 participating teams from 9 districts and cities in the province. Mr. Le Van Thai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that this year's competition held special significance in recalling the glorious traditions of the nation, particularly the historic victory of Spring 1975. Through this, it aimed to awaken national pride, highlight the values of independence and freedom, and honor the outstanding achievements in economics , politics, culture, social affairs, national defense, and security of the country and Binh Duong province during 50 years of construction, reform, and development.

Notably, this year's competition has expanded its scope compared to previous years. Each participating team comprises numerous members, ranging from officials, civil servants, and employees to students, youth union members, women's association members, and workers, thus creating a healthy and intellectually stimulating competition. With the theme "50 Years of National Flourishing," the contestants brought to the audience a truly heroic historical atmosphere through many new and outstanding works.

In addition to the book content, the teams also shared their feelings about the development of the country and localities after 50 years of reunification and reform. Through three competition rounds, including team introduction, book introduction, and reading skills competition, the participating teams excellently demonstrated their ability to promote and introduce books, as well as their reading skills, speed reading, long-term memory, and impressive and convincing answers to the questions in the competition rounds. “Through this competition, the organizers hope that each contestant will be an active communicator to encourage people to read books, spread the spirit of reading in the community, promote the good traditional values and glorious history of our nation in the struggle to protect the country and the achievements of our nation after 50 years of the Liberation of the South and reunification of the country, thereby contributing to the development of reading culture and building a learning society in Binh Duong province,” said Mr. Le Van Thai.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hue, Director of the Provincial Library, said that in the series of activities in response to Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day this year, in addition to the book promotion and introduction contest that has already taken place, the Provincial Library also has activities such as: displaying exhibitions of good and new books; organizing seminars on reading culture; and circulating books to serve readers at commune cultural post offices in the province, schools, correctional centers, and detention centers in the province. The Binh Duong Provincial Library is currently a member of the Union of Libraries of the Southeast and South Central provinces.
