Quang Ninh: Ensuring a safe environment for tourists

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh has issued Document No. 1414/SVHTTDL-QLLT, requesting tourist areas, attractions, accommodation, food and beverage, tourism service establishments, travel agencies and related units to implement disease prevention work to ensure the health and safety of people and tourists.

Faced with the new developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, as a key tourist destination in the North and the whole country, the tourism industry in Quang Ninh has proactively implemented many measures to control and prevent Covid-19, ensuring a safe environment for tourists during the peak summer tourist season.

According to information from the Ministry of Health , recently, the Covid-19 epidemic has increased in some countries in the region such as China, Thailand, and Singapore. In Vietnam, the number of Covid-19 cases has also shown an increasing trend. In response to the new developments of the epidemic, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province issued Document No. 1579/UBND-VHXH dated May 22, 2025 on proactively implementing measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.

Due to the summer holidays, the demand for tourism and travel has increased, increasing the risk of disease transmission. Following the direction of the province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh has issued Document No. 1414/SVHTTDL-QLLT, requesting tourist areas, destinations, accommodation, food and beverage establishments, tourism services, travel agencies and related units to deploy disease prevention work to ensure the health and safety of people and tourists. In particular, promoting the sense of responsibility and proactiveness of units and tourist areas in closely following the disease situation, having Covid-19 prevention measures appropriate to reality.

Muong Thanh Luxury Ha Long Centre Hotel staff are regularly updated on the developments of the Covid-19 epidemic.

One of the solutions prioritized by the tourism industry is to strengthen communication work, recommend the implementation of personal disease prevention measures in tourist service establishments and destinations, and at the same time recommend that tourists wear masks on means of transport or in public places; wash hands regularly with clean water, soap or antiseptic solution; when having signs of fever, cough, difficulty breathing, go immediately to the nearest medical facility for timely examination, monitoring and treatment.

Many accommodation establishments have promptly taken measures to communicate to staff and visitors about proactive disease prevention. Since mid-May, Muong Thanh Luxury Ha Long Centre Hotel has placed warning signs on Covid-19 disease prevention in the lobby and public areas for easy access by visitors. Information on the disease situation in the country and the region is also regularly updated by the hotel to staff in all departments to proactively prevent and control the disease.

Head of the hotel's Business Reception Department, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh said: At all times, the safety and health of guests are always the hotel's top priority. In particular, during this period, the hotel focuses on disseminating and instructing staff about the disease's progression and notes related to disease prevention to ensure the health of staff working at the hotel. From there, building a safe working environment is also to bring customers safe experiences.

Disinfection of spaces on cruise ships serving tourists visiting and staying in the bay is maintained periodically.

As one of the sea tourism experiences that is loved and chosen by many tourists in the summer, many cruise ships on Ha Long Bay also activate the disease control and prevention process according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and local authorities. Disinfection of the entire space on the cruise ship is maintained periodically. Staff and crew members are checked for health and strictly comply with personal hygiene regulations. Mr. Do Van Phong, Director of Saquila Yacht, said: To strengthen immunity in a special working environment, last March, 100% of staff working on the cruise ship were vaccinated against influenza A. This is one of the unit's efforts to limit the risk of disease transmission and ensure public health.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested tourist areas, attractions, accommodation, food and beverage, tourism service establishments, travel agencies and related units to proactively coordinate with the health sector and localities in disease surveillance based on the actual situation, creating a safe tourism environment for tourists, affirming the "Safe - Friendly - Attractive" destination brand of Quang Ninh tourism.
