Quang Ninh province identifies education as a top national priority.

GD&TĐ - On August 21st, the Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year and implement tasks for the 2025-2026 school year.

Many outstanding achievements

According to the Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training, 100% of the targets and tasks for the 2024-2025 school year will be achieved or exceeded. Specifically, the percentage of schools meeting national standards will reach 92.07%, and is expected to reach 92.5% or higher by the end of 2025; the rate of 100% of children attending two sessions per day will be firmly maintained; preschool education for 5-year-old children will be universally provided; and the rate of primary school students attending two sessions per day will reach 100%.

The quality of universal lower secondary education was upgraded from level 2 to level 3 ahead of schedule; along with 10 other provinces and cities nationwide that achieved level 3 (the highest level) of universal lower secondary education earliest.

In particular, in the 2025 National High School Excellent Student Selection Exam, Quang Ninh province achieved 88 awards (an increase of 3 awards compared to the previous year and also the highest number ever); firmly maintaining its ranking of 8th out of 63 provinces and cities (formerly) with the highest number of awards nationwide; 1 student won a Bronze Medal in the International Informatics Olympiad, and 1 student won a Silver Medal in the Abu Rayhan-Biruni 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad.

The high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 academic year was conducted safely, seriously, and objectively, with 68.46% of exam scores reaching average or above.

The 2025 high school graduation exam in Quang Ninh province was conducted safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations, with an average score of 6.19 points; ranking 12th out of 34 newly established provinces and cities; and 13th out of 63 (old) provinces and cities, an increase of 12 places compared to 2024.

In implementing the tasks for the 2025-2026 school year, the provincial Department of Education and Training aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in education.

Continue to innovate and improve the quality of preschool education, general education, vocational education, and continuing education.

Ensuring equitable access to quality education for learners; developing a team of teachers and educational administrators to meet the requirements of educational and training reform.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, praised the outstanding achievements that the education and training sector had made in the past academic year.

For the 2025-2026 school year, Ms. Hanh suggested that the provincial Department of Education and Training and the communes, wards, special zones, and educational institutions must always consider education as a top national priority.

Communes, wards, and special zones need to provide leadership and guidance to overcome difficulties and create favorable conditions for educational institutions to best perform their tasks, thereby creating a competitive spirit in education among localities.

Review and streamline the network of educational institutions to align with the two-tiered government system. Effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program; ensure that the nurturing, care, and education of children meet the requirements of the Preschool Education Program; consolidate and maintain the highest possible level of universal education and literacy eradication achievements.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Education and Training to direct the selection of a number of key subjects to build into a learning brand for Quang Ninh province; to discover and nurture talents; to pay attention to creating a strong impetus for foreign languages; and to improve the quality of private education, creating positive changes.

Educational institutions must strengthen the education of revolutionary ideals, political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; ensure school safety; and prevent and control diseases, legal violations, accidents, injuries, and drowning among students.
