The National Assembly will vote on tuition exemption and support for students.

(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Today (June 26), the National Assembly will vote to pass a resolution on tuition exemption and support for preschool children, high school students, and students of general education programs at educational institutions in the national education system.

At the same time, delegates will also vote to pass a Resolution on universalizing preschooleducation for children from 3 to 5 years old.

The provisions in Article 2 of the draft Resolution clearly state the exemption of tuition fees for preschool children, primary school students, and students of general education programs in public educational institutions; and tuition support for preschool children, primary school students, and students of general education programs in non-public and private educational institutions.

The authority to decide on the level of tuition support is decided by the People's Council of the province or centrally-run city according to the tuition fee framework prescribed by the Government , but not exceeding the tuition fee level of non-public and private educational institutions.

Regarding implementation costs (Article 3), the draft Resolution clearly states that the state budget and central budget will support localities facing difficulties and those that have not yet balanced their budgets to implement the policy (including localities that have implemented tuition exemption and support). Regarding the effective date (Article 5), the regulation will be applied from the 2025-2026 school year so that the Government has time to prepare the necessary conditions from the time the Resolution takes effect from today.
