New regulations on driver training for categories B1, B2, and C, effective from June 1, 2024.

From June 1st, 2024, driver training for categories B1, B2, and C will be conducted according to the new regulations.

The Minister of Transport has just issued Circular No. 05/2024/TT-BGTVT amending and supplementing a number of articles of circulars related to the field of road transport, road transport support services, vehicles and drivers.

Specifically, the Ministry of Transport amends and supplements Article 13 of Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BGTVT (which has been amended and supplemented by Clause 7, Article 1 of Circular No. 04/2022/TT-BGTVT) as follows:

Driving training for categories B1, B2, and C.

Regarding the examination and issuance of basic vocational certificates and training certificates, the Circular clearly states:

The final exam for the theoretical course will be based on a set of theoretical examination questions (the questions will cover the following subjects: Road traffic law; vehicle structure and common repairs; transportation operations; traffic ethics and culture; prevention of the harmful effects of alcohol and beer; and fire prevention, rescue and emergency response while participating in traffic) and simulated traffic situations.

The practical driving course concludes with a series of tests, including a zigzag driving maneuver and driving on the road.

Consider granting vocational certificates or training certificates to learners who meet the requirements as stipulated above.

A training vehicle for B1 and B2 licenses should not carry more than 5 students.

Driving schools base their training programs on factors including: the curriculum content and the prescribed training time allocation, review time, end-of-course examinations, and holidays; to determine the total training time for the driving course, ensuring that the objectives are met: for category B1, the training program is for regular courses, and for categories B2 and C, it is for basic level courses.

The number of trainees allowed per training vehicle is as follows: no more than 5 trainees for B1 and B2 categories, and no more than 8 trainees for C category.

Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT takes effect from June 1, 2024.
